Sadly, no. Icon packs on Linux are encoded in a different format (.xpm) but that might be considered in the next release.

For the meantime, you could try this one, but this is quite different but similar in some ways:
http://downloads.mozdev.org/iconpacks/m ... -linux.xpi

(PS: Don't install the XPI. Instead, extract it into the chrome directory)

Now, will this overwrite whatever icon packs are there? Will this then break other complete themes, or otherwise affect the images/icons they use?

Yes, if you have an existing icon pack installed. It will only replace window icons, and wouldn't have an effect on any complete themes installed.

An update to Moonscape: v6.10 - 2017-03-09
- Improve appearance of a lot of icons
- Updated internal documentation (a lot cleaner, revised)
- Massive code cleanup
- Remove "Classic" from the theme's name and other references
- Add Windows 10 support (thanks to Lootyhoof) :)
- Allow toolbarbutton-badge be styled by add-ons
- More precise description
- New icons for a lot of places (notably plugins)
- Added Linux Icon Pack, updated icon pack readme
- Added a new subskin (Outer recessed 3D frames for status bar buttons)
- Small toolbar icons now with more detail (no longer looks like quick resize)
- Unnecessary margins from the top window are now removed
- Fix existing references to FX in some images

You may need to reset your configuration if you edited/modified the default settings and used advanced customization (userchrome/stylish).

Hey @FranklinDM, there may be a bug with Moonscape: viewtopic.php?f=45&t=7674&p=112289#p112289. I've let Lootyhoof know awhile back with Australium, and brought it up to his attention again. This time, I used your theme as an example.

I've made a css sheet that can be installed with Stylish that makes enchantments for the "Tree Style Tabs for Pale Moon" extension, in case anyone here uses it.

It's really esoteric and only works for tabs on the left hand side. I made it to go along with a system theme that I've been working with, but figured that I could share it here.

Some screenshots.

A big update will be up next month, just to let everyone know that there still is progress though. There are a lot of fixes/cleanup to some parts and completion of the tweaks to standard icons (error/info/question) and small toolbar icons should be more clearer now, a new sync icon, and probably more. I was supposed to publish the update this month but due to internet and/or location issues, it will be there next month. It will also integrate a fix for the appearance of tree-style tabs (thanks to the report above ) by default, no additional subskins required.

Awesome!

Although, I haven't received an update yet. Is it on hold?

It's up already, and what happened was quite embarrassing. I accidentally uploaded the wrong manifest file for Moonscape  and temporarily got it delisted from the add-ons site.

I believe ubuntu 16.04 is an older version there. Not know much about it and my wife is also new to Linux.

I think it will work as long as you have Pale Moon v27.0 and higher. By the way, don't follow the instructions that I've said earlier, I have already updated the icon pack instructions in the theme. To see this, you need to install and activate/enable the Moonscape theme to be able to see and follow the instructions said in the link below.
Copy this to the URL bar and navigate.

You can also download the Moonscape Icon Pack for Linux separately from here:
