Extension: Disconnect Search 1.4.1
AMO: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/disconnect-search/
No button issue.

Extension: OmniSidebar 1.4.1
AMO: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/omnisidebar/
Due to Australis shenanigans for the Download window, its not working atm. It seems version 1.3.2 works fine though, so I'll try to contact the developer to see if he can use 1.3.2 as base, throw the bugfixes and thus add "compatibility".

Extension: EPUBReader 1.4.2.5
AMO: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/omnisidebar/
No button issue, plus it doesn't open epubs.

Extension: Search by Image for Google 1.2.0
AMO: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/googlesearch-by-image/
Doesn't work, since it leads to the basic google homepage instead of using the Google Images' search. It seemed to be a problem shared with the other Google image search addons. Maybe it has something to do with Google seeing Palemoon as just Firefox 24?

SDC's bootstrap.js does import and use "cuddlefish.js". Could this import be the source of this compatibility issue with Pale Moon 25 (similar to Re: Addon/module compatibility problem)?

No, because the relevant issue is only present in older SDK versions than what is used in Pale Moon.
SDC likely hard-codes the GUID of Firefox.

The issue SDC has might also be related to the fact that Firefox is referenced by name at multiple places in the SDK .js files rather than in the extension itself. There is a thread on Mozz about getting Ghostery to work in SeaMonkey that may have relevant info that could help improve PM compatibility. I can't test any of the patches on either PM or SM because I haven't found a program that will unpack omni.ja. (I have gotten into some jar files contained in extensions but not the browser's omni.ja; have tried WinZip, 7zip, PeaZip and a file manager.)

Reading the thread from the beginning is best but here is the link to one of the best posts.

Universal Extractor (Before extracting, change the file type suffix from ".ja" to ".jar")

AdBlock Plus / AdBlock Edge icon not appear in Pale Moon 25

Post by Snappy Phoenix » 2014-10-08, 19:18

Installed Pale Moon 25 x86 and started with a clean new profile

Few things I noticed:

1) The bug which I had before with 24.7.2 where Major Geeks website would load blank upon the first attempt is now gone with my same addons installed so that's a great plus
2) Everything working perfectly and super fast
3) I installed the latest ABP Add-On but its icon doesn't appear near the URL bar anymore even though I can see the extension is installed and functioning properly in the Add Ons page

Additionally, when I went to the AdBlock site to add the Facbeook Annoyances https://facebook.adblockplus.me/en/ , I was told that I need to install ABP first but I did have it installed so I had to add the Facebook Annoyances URL Manually ( https://easylist-downloads.adblockplus. ... s_full.txt )

I also tried AdBlock Edge but it gave the same result, add-on installed but icon missing

Compatibility Reports for v25

Post by New Tobin Paradigm » 2014-10-10, 10:02

This thread will allow people to report their add-ons that stop functioning in Pale Moon 25.

This is important:
PLEASE CHECK THE ADD-ONS SITE (https://addons.palemoon.org/firefox/incompatible/) AND PREVIOUS POSTS BEFORE YOU POST YOUR REPORT.

Also, please keep any discussion to an ABSOLUTE MINIMUM! I cannot stress this enough...

Please phrase your report in the following format (Include those where appropriate)

Name:
Type: Extension or Theme
Issue:
Cause:
Workaround: Access options from add-on manager
AMO: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon_url (strip locale part from url like the /en-US/ part and put it in a url tag so it isn't truncated)

Only include those items in the form that apply.. if you haven't explored a cause then don't include one.. Also "Upgraded to Pale Moon 25" is implicit and not helpful.

Chatzilla: Does still in Pale Moon 25 with a work-around: You just Need to write irc:// and press enter and Chatzilla Window is opening

Stylish: To edit styles the Firefox compatible mode has to be activated, then you can also edit styles - Perhaps it is possible to create a checkbox to toggle that about:config pref on/off in the options, so for add-ons which do need that one it can easily switched on/off!

Name: Mouse Gestures Redox
Type: Extension
Issue: Not working after update to PM25
Cause: Unknown, possibly GUID issue
Workaround: None

I know the above is a long-dead extension as the developer stopped updating it, but it's soooo goood and worked just fine until I updated to PM25. I suspect it might be GUID related, but I am such a noob that I don't know even where to look for it and/or how to update/fix it in the .xpi file. If any kind soul could suggest how to find/replace the GUID, I will be very grateful.

Name: Fastest Search
Type: Extension
Issue: Doesn't work and can't find it's config icon after updating to PM25
Cause: Probably GUID-related
Workaround: None

I will contact the developer and will provide feedback, if any.

UPDATE 11-Oct-2014 from the Developer:

"FS is a Jetpack-based addon, which means I don't write the manifest file, but rather a package.json file. I do not set application's GUID, but instead the Jetpack's addon packer does it. I'd have to manually unpack the addon and modify GUID, and it's not certain where it is or what effect it'd have.

Also in principle I do not support customized FF versions like Palemoon, it'd be too much to take on - the 6 public addons I have is already plenty to deal with in leisure time...

EDIT0: Removed the first line in the above posted error message. That first line was: 'CookieKeeper error in 25.0.x'. This was a note to myself and NOT part of the actual error message!

EDIT1+: All of above is in reference to running PM 25 against an existing profile created by PM 24.x --or-- new install from the AMO moz website.

But, when attempting to install the CookieKeeper extension --modified-- using a2g's conversion script in a new PM 25 profile or profile where CookieKeeper has been removed, you get the gui error message that follows below:
cookieKeeper_install_error.jpg
.
