Better Privacy 1.68 and 1.68.1
I saw in a couple of post that people were looking for Better Privacy 1.68 and 1.68.1 for PM V27. I save everything that I download and install. I have copies of both and the SH1 hash code for 1.68 matches. I do not have the hash code for 1.68.1. I do not know if it is legal for me to offer it or to upload it to PM. If it is legal and the Add On team wants it then I can help out.
Re: Better Privacy 1.68 and 1.68.1
I don't have an original xpi for BetterPrivacy 1.68.1-signed, but I guess it should be the same as the version backed-up by FEBE. If I generate a checksum for that version then it's:
- MD5: b70dbd5bf4bdacb3dd97baee00430428
- SHA-256: 6b1f5e0102718633c46d71aa3e8640609967713c28d6ca0256bc1ded4645f744
Forked extensions :
● Add-ons Inspector ● Auto Text Link ● Copy As Plain Text ● Copy Hyperlink Text ● FireFTP button replacement ● gSearch Bar ● Navigation Bar Enhancer ● New Tab Links ● Number Tabs ● Print Preview Button and Keyboard Shortcut 2 ● Scrollbar Search Marker ● Simple Marker ● Tabs To Portfolio ● Update Alert ● Web Developer's Toolbox ● Zap Anything

Re: Better Privacy 1.68 and 1.68.1
The ones I have came direct from the FF Add On site. I am a hoarder when it comes to downloads. It has to be so far outdated for me to delete it, that my own grand ma ma used themFalna wrote:I don't have an original xpi for BetterPrivacy 1.68.1-signed, but I guess it should be the same as the version backed-up by FEBE. These I have verified. Version 1.68

My version of 1.68.1 matches the checksums you posted Falna.

I have the XPI for them if anyone needs them will be glad to distribute only. LOL knowing my luck it will still get me in trouble some how.
Re: Better Privacy 1.68 and 1.68.1
Well this is a non-commercial distribution channel, so I don't see any distribution problem. It's obviously up to users to refrain from using it for commercial purposes.
And it seems that it's fine to upload to here - I don't see anything in the fourm rules against it, and there's an recent example here: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?p=100472#p100610
With luck, someone will pick up the offer to fork a PM specific version of the addon anyway - see this discussion: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=13888&hilit=better+privacy&start=60#p100482

Re: Better Privacy 1.68 and 1.68.1
...so may as well add it myself. For anyone being cautious, use a checksum verifier to confirm that the checksum matches the value posted and confirmed above. And as also mentioned above, the license is for non-commercial distribution and use only.Falna wrote:And it seems that it's fine to upload to here

Re: Better Privacy 1.68 and 1.68.1
Better Privacy 1.77 (the latest version) appears to work in Pale Moon 27, indistinguishable from Better Privacy 1.77 in Firefox 50. In fact, if you use Better Privacy in both Pale Moon and Firefox, changing Better Privacy options in one browser also changes the same option settings in the other browser. Better Privacy versions 1.69 to 1.77 appear to have three purposes: drop support for very old (but not recent) versions of Firefox, fix bugs, and update for new Firefox "features". That is, compatibility with Pale Moon 27 apparently has not broken by any of these Better Privacy updates.
To install and use Better Privacy 1.77 in Pale Moon 27, you must first change the Firefox min-version, to 27.0, in BP's install.rdf file (viewtopic.php?f=16&t=13888&p=101806&sid ... 68#p101806).
