Well.. Seeing as I am working on the new Search Plugins page for the Add-ons Site.. I would like everyone's suggestions to better populate the list of search plugins.
You can either give a basic suggestion, link to an AMO/Mycroft Project listing, or the full xml in a
Code: Select all
[/b] tag.
I do look forward to everyone's suggestions!
The following Search Engines are in the browser by default so they cannot be reasonably added to the Search Plugins page as they would refuse to install even if you removed them from your list. In order to get the following back you will have to "Restore defaults" from Manage Search Engines dialog box. Doing so will restore all inbox Search Plugins but will [b]NOT [/b]remove ones you have installed.
List is as follows:
[list]
[*]DuckDuckGo
[*]Yahoo
[*]Bing
[*]Ecosia
[*]Twitter
[*]Wikipedia[/list]
Please do keep discussion to an absolute minimum.
[b]The [i]Special[/i] Add-ons Site Board Rules apply. Namely, irrelevant discourse will be removed without comment.[/b]

Already Suggested by Moonchild.. DO WATCH OUT FOR THIS..
LimboSlam wrote:Twitter (Twitter instantly connects you with what's happening in the world. Search for people and topics on Twitter now!): ?
Already Default
LimboSlam wrote:Pale Moon Add-ons (Search for specified Pale Moon add-ons at APO): ?
The current search for the add-ons site operates as POST only it won't respond to GET arguments or queries at present.
Aren't these a little redundant when you can just click the link on both search engines to make your search go from general web to images.. In fact the same kind of work to switch in the browser except once you are done you have to switch it back...
k.

Sorry about that Matt (I forget what name you want to be called, so please forgive me and do correct me), my WIFI is running a bit slow and so everything is running late.

I don't know. It was always a one way search and then exit, for me at least. That, and I wanted quick results on an image without jumping any kind of hoops. But an option is welcomed for the end user, right?
-PS: I would like to add IMDB (Internet Movie Database):

With Pale Moon by my side, surfing the web is quite enjoyable and takes my headaches away!

I have four suggestions:
By the way, I think Ixquick has been discontinued in favor of Startpage recently.

Here's what I have that's not default. I don't know which ones are "official," some may have been made with the "Add to Search Bar" add-on:
- McAfee SiteAdvisor
Norton's Safe Web
Accuweather Forcast
Amazon Search Suggestions
Ebay
Walmart
Hulu
YouTube
Ixquick HTTPS (different than MC's suggesion, note the HTTPS)

It was (announcement
here). But for some reason they have continued

Off-topic:
As a side note... It's possible (with both Ixquick and Startpage) to install the search plugin from its settings page with your custom preferences, if anyone's interested.
