Why create a new addon type?

Unread postby user1535809 » Sat, 01 Sep 2018, 04:01

Why would you create a whole new addon type instead of making an archive of old addons? Money again?

What on God's earth are talking about???? :wtf:

Pale Moon has done no such thing, in fact, if you really want to put this blame on someone
put it on Firefox and Web Extensions which are the bottom of the barrel when it comes
to add on's. Pale Moon on the other hand is simply allowing you to use add on's that were
created during F.F. days or newly created "under the same technology".

And for your information, Pale Moon isn't getting rich giving away a free browser for you
to use.

And also, Pale Moon doesn't create add on's. Separate add on developers "common folk like us" do.

completely FOOLPROOF, is underestimating the ingenuity of complete FOOLS! ;) "

he might be talking about a new addon site for Pale Moon instead of rehosting old AMO, but in that case it still makes absolutely zero sense

Money again?

Well think about it.
Isn't most of what one does - for money?

You wake up in the morn
You pee in the toilet & flush that away with water
The heaven brought forth water
Money paid the way for water to make it to your home
You flip a switch & light turn on
Money paid the way for electricity to make it to your home
You eat a banana for breakfast
Money paid the farmer that provided you that banana
You go to work, to make money
So that you can eat your banana
So that you can turn on a light to be able to see while you eat your banana
So that you can flush the toilet that brought water to your home after peeing having extracted nutrients from the banana that the farmer provided you with

But browsers, that is done out of the kindness of ones heart, for the betterment of mankind, with no mention of.

Thank you.

I thought this was something about WebExtensions, but now I don't really understand.

OP never mentioned webextensions.
Aren't we in the fun & profiteering forum ;-).

(Some may have taken it for granted that was his intention, but...)

Many people do not distinguish between official addons and "click here and install to repair yours system (and win iPhone)".

There's no real point in posting further here unless and until the OP clarifies the question.

I have to say - this is one hell of a post. Very well put.
It is preposterous to make the public believe that this is all just because we are loved. TANSTAAFL ! Or - there ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

In the end, it always comes down to money, and you have to pay for it, one way or another. This (understandably, granted) is also why "even" this site shows you a message asking you to disable your adblocker.

Thus, it is absolutely ridiculous to get all defensive and attack the poster for daring to ask such a question.

considering the OP has been banned, there's no point in continuing this guessing game. Locking.
