Funny WebGL Bugs
Dear devs at Pale Moon,
Pale Moon is a fantastic browser. I enjoy the classic 90s and early 2000s GUI this browser provides me. However, I want it to be the best browser it can be, while also being as lightweight as it is. As a result, I'd like to address a WebGL graphics bug, with evidence. All of this is on Intel Mac.
Firstly, I'm not saying WebGL doesn't work completely. It's pretty clear this browser supports WebGL and I have tested it. However, it doesn't always work properly. For example, when I go to GeoFS and start flying planes, it starts loading fine at first, but then it looks like an old TV struggling with the signal (don't mean to be rude, I find it the only way to describe the WebGL graphics issue). I have attached a screenshot for reference as evidence. With that being said, it's not unplayable, but it's not a very clean experience. The URL is geo-fs.com.
I hope this issue isn't very difficult to sort out, and that it's not an issue with my computer but rather a normal bug in the web browser.
Thank you.

Please go to help -> troubleshooting information, copy the text to the clipboard with the provided button in that page, and paste it in a reply (preferably using the [ hide ] forum tags to prevent a lot of required scrolling by readers). That will give us more details as to your WebGL/3D/rendering environment.

Re: Funny WebGL Bugs
I played for about 15 minutes and did not experience this issue. How long does it typically take before the visual glitching begins?

Re: Funny WebGL Bugs
TBH this does look like a driver issue; I'm honestly not up to speed which Mac computers use HD 6000 integrated graphics.
Alternatively, maybe you're running out of VRAM - maybe you need to assign more system ram to the GPU if you can.
Perhaps people more familiar with Mac graphics can weigh in here.

Re: Funny WebGL Bugs
Other than "it's a decade old" and likely in need of replacing, that unfortunately doesn't help me help you

In-browser 3D graphics depend on many moving parts, and ageing integrated Intel graphics have never been easy to work with even in Windows.

Thanks for trying to help me
. Do you think adapting to the visual glitches or steering clear of the website are the only two ways? GeoFS is the only website which has the glitches so far.

Re: Funny WebGL Bugs
I can only suggest you use a different browser for that particular site at the moment.

Where can I post a question about how a particular part of this forum works, if I am unsure?

Re: Funny WebGL Bugs
I get 11 FPS in Pale Moon, 16 FPS in Firefox, 34 FPS in Chromium, according to avg FPS counter under Options->Debug. Old AMD Phenom II X4 920 (clocked to 3 GHz from factory 2,8 GHz) paired with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti, Win11 23H2. Maybe try and see if reducing quality under Options->Graphics changes anything with the glitches, but I doubt it will.
Also, you can play with webgl.bypass-shader-validation option in about:config (at your own risk).

Re: Funny WebGL Bugs
I'm afraid reducing quality made the visual glitches worse. And on top of that playing with webGL.bypass-shader-validation didn't help either. It's fine. There must be SOME way to fix the issue, so I'm not giving up.

Re: Funny WebGL Bugs
Can the OS I'm running be an issue for this page? It's also happened in macOS Monterey. I obviously cannot full reset immediately or within the next few months though. Currently running the latest macOS.

Re: Funny WebGL Bugs
I don't know if current MacOS actually runs well on very old hardware. That might be your issue, since the drivers will be part of the OS for Mac.

Re: Funny WebGL Bugs
The same problem happened on the same website on Basilisk. I tried that out to compare because both are similar browsers. And I'm not sure what version of macOS I should reset to either.
