I have a lot of problems after installation, missing icons, profile corrupt, etc.

Delete the lot and start from scratch again.

In case you had the idea to use Pale Moon with a Firefox profile, don't. The two have long since been incompatible. Otherwise there shouldn't be such problems with a brand new vanilla installation.
