Most of the Big Sur fixes made it into this release, but there is one lingering issue with version detection which causes Pale Moon to report MacOS version 10.0 instead of the expected 10.16, which is the compatibility version for MacOS 11.0. This may cause unexpected behavior, there is a fix for this which has not been reviewed, but fixes the issue for me which will hopefully go into the tree soon. I made a separate build with this fix, consider this build experimental. Available here:

Yeah I know, just wondering if you were using the Big Sur build or not... but assuming that means you are using the official build.KlarkKentThe3rd wrote: ↑2020-11-26, 11:18use Big Sur, don't want to use Big Sur, and my ancient machine will CHUG on Big Sur.

Another guy using official release with MacOS 10.15 here
Not updating to Big Sur for the next 6 months

Re: Pale Moon 28.16.0
The point is to get reports from those who are using Big Slug or whatever so I dunno why you guys are reporting anything when you don't.
Re: Pale Moon 28.16.0
Was also curious if the "no issues" report was coming from the official release or the one with the version patch.New Tobin Paradigm wrote: ↑2020-11-27, 09:03The point is to get reports from those who are using Big Slug or whatever so I dunno why you guys are reporting anything when you don't.
Re: Pale Moon 28.16.0
There were at least 2 that requested a version for Big Sur in the 28.15.0 thread, but haven't heard from them since I posted Big Sur versions.
Re: Pale Moon 28.16.0
That's just typical, isn't it?

Re: Pale Moon 28.16.0
I didn't request Big Sur version, but I am using it. The blank message popup problem I reported last has been fixed with the Big Sur Version. I am running patched Big Sur on a Mac Pro 5,1 (flashed 4,1)
Re: Pale Moon 28.16.0
If at all possible we want to only have to have one binary that works with 10.7 to latest. This does not mean we might discontinue older versions as they age beyond reason but we will give best effort to keep them working decently.
However, when we ask how things are going on versions of the target operating system we are looking for tangible feedback FOR those versions.

Re: Pale Moon 28.16.0
Not sure if my feedback was tangible, but the issue I had on big sur with the blank message and suggestion popups for cut paste etc, has been fixed in the big sur version. I have a couple of 4,1 macbooks and I'm pleased with performance on those of the main release. Firefox Legacy has a lion supported browser, but Pale Moon is my preference, I like to use it on my windows PC at work and because I use it on my older macs , I like to use it on my Mac Pro in the first instance. I have a couple of PowerPC mac's too, but "tenfourpalemoon" is beyond my capabilities and a big ask to push onto someone else, so I'll stick with tenfourfox

Glad it is working for you thanks!darksidekevin wrote: ↑2020-12-01, 15:38Big improvement on Big Sur thanks. Also thanks for still supporting Lion
Re: Pale Moon 28.16.0
I also have a PowerPC Mac too, but my build machine can no longer build PowerPC binaries, the PowerPC Mac is woefully under-powered and the Pale Moon source base currently requires 10.7 so the likelihood of a PowerPC build is slim to none at the moment. TenFourFox is definitely the way to go for PowerPC Macs.darksidekevin wrote: ↑2020-12-01, 17:14I have a couple of PowerPC mac's too, but "tenfourpalemoon" is beyond my capabilities and a big ask to push onto someone else, so I'll stick with tenfourfox

Off-topic:
Nobody needs to reply as i wont be logging back in to respond.
Rebranded Borealis running on 10.6
Rebranded and forked 27.9.4 on 10.5 PowerPC
Actually, current UXP could work on 10.6 as it's based on 52.9 which now builds and runs on Snow Leopard. PowerPC 10.4/10.5 is a bit tougher. I managed to get the older Pale Moon 27.9.4 code to build and function on Tiger and Leopard though. So anything is possible. Anyway, keep up the good work with the supported OS X stuff.the Pale Moon source base currently requires 10.7

Re: Pale Moon 28.16.0
10.6 is too old to consider as we move forward. But as a complete traitor to the project it figures you'd eventually come and spout this kind of bullshit to mess with the hopes and minds of users.
Also, until I release Borealis any state of code you are using there is illegal as the MPL grants apply to covered source code modifications the moment a binary form is distrubuted. Since there are none you actually have no legal rights to anything I have changed. But as a BSD Communist and ally of MSFN Hackers I expected no different from you.
Do make sure you crawl back under whatever rock you been hiding under for a year, wicknix, and stay there.
