In Big Sur beta messages are coming up in blank boxes? not happening with firefox or safari so I'm guessing it's a setting in pale moon?

There is an open issue to look into Big Sur issues. Support for it isn't complete yet.
Issue #1667 (UXP)

This is the third bug I am looking into on the issue... the bug affects a couple other Mozilla forks, like Seamonkey too... I've tried grafting changes from unaffected Mozilla forks but so far I have not determined the cause of the misbehavior.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I spent some tome trying to discover what is supported. Where is this information?

Since Pale Moon for Mac is in perpetual beta the specifics are largely confined to this board on the forum. But it isn't like it hasn't been stated here before.

I have rarely met Mac software which fails to specify compatibility at point of download and often also in a downloaded ReadMe.

Which versions does it work with?

Hint: use the forum's search

search.php?keywords=mac+minimum+version

Easy when you know which search terms to use.

I tried earlier versions which were described as working with my OS but they did not work for me.

Is there a table of compatible browser versions for various OS X versions?

We don't support you and we are not your personal search engine.

Oh come on! Those are the terms I tried first try based on what your question is. FIRST TRY.

Is there a table
No, there isn't.
And as long as the Mac consumer dev base doesn't change and commits to making an actual release, this kind of documentation won't ever be made either.
Latest version that would run on 10.6 would be the last 27.* unofficial builds, which I can't recommend ANYone still use, so no. either get 10.7 or later or use a different supported browser.
