No anomalies! (besides the few known quirks, which will hopefully be resolved in PM 28 UXP?!). Thanks, as always, wicknix for keeping these SL versions coming, great service

In Moonchild's announcement for the mid-august milestone he expresses hope for the start of official PM for OS X, thats pretty exciting! This will bring broader recognition, I guess.

It took me a little while to find my way to this forum, but now that I found it, I registered specifically to give a huge "thank you" to wicknix for these SL builds (echoing my similar message on MacRumors), and to the Pale Moon developer(s) also. It was a bit disheartening to hear that v28.x SL builds will no longer be made but still...v27.x should endure fine for me. Suffice to say I am an absolutely rabid, immovable Snow Leopard fan so this app is a wonderful help and I very much appreciate it.

In fact, bit of a separate note but Pale Moon has proven so great in my using it that I have also been convinced to try out the XP version (my "other" OS which I will never budge from) and make it my new primary browser with all my work.

Again, a big thank you.

I would love to use this but when I download I get a message stating this application isn't supported by my Mac. I am running 10.6.8 snow leopard. What is causing this?

I'm guessing you're trying to install it on a 32 bit machine. Currently these SL builds only work on 64 bit core 2 duo machines.

Cheers

You can navigate to about:buildconfig to see which configure arguments were used to produce a build, FYI.

Hopefully you continue creating further versions for people using Snow Leopard. Pale Moon is the only browser running quite smoothly on older macs that work with MacOS 10.6.8. Snow Leopard as those are the only ones that also run programs that need Rosetta support......

Very unlikely. Pale Moon 27 is no longer supported, and Pale Moon 28 does not run on Snow Leopard.
It doesn't mean that the older version will suddenly stop working, of course, but the browser will be in the same situation as the OS version is and not receive further updates.

Thank you even for v27...it runs very nicely and anyway, for myself I think it will last perfectly well. (Obviously as someone who sticks with Snow Leopard, and XP for that matter, latest versions are not a huge deal for me.)

This may sound semi-insane, but...are there versions older than 27 that will run on Snow Leopard? More specifically, I think it would be the v25's...basically any that use the previous Gecko engine instead. I was fortunately able to find one in the archive for WinXP, and I realize the odds are perhaps very low that anyone bothered to compile one for Mac let alone Snow Leopard, but I just thought I'd ask. (I'm an Opera veteran/refugee and a big Gecko fan as well...)

Go to the fifth page on this (Pale Moon for Mac OSX) board, it looks like you can still download BitVapor's 25.x builds.

Whoa! Thank you so much! I didn't hold out much hope but am amazed and grateful...never thought to just go back through old threads. I always like to have alternate-engines in my browser stable, in cases where the odd site or two out there refuse to play nice with one of them. This is really great, thanks again.

When logging into a library wifi using 27.0.3, I got the attached error. Yet using the latest version, I wind up in an endless loop at
the firewall authentication stage: https://wifiauth.hdpl.org:1003/fgtauth?0207427a09eecb82
However, it still logged me in to be able to write this post.

@dottormorte You could try this fix https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=19044&start=100#p149450

@retroburrower Sounds to me like it's a limitation of the libraries wifi network. Does it happen on other wifi networks?

Cheers
