For everyone's information: While working on that second part (Issue #553 (UXP)), I made this happen: So, there is hope....wicknix wrote:... Private browsing window missing min/max/close buttons and private browsing icon...

Thanks!
I also just fixed Issue #491 (UXP) (formerly tracked in Issue #623 (Pale-Moon)). I'll see if I can get it uplifted to Tycho, for the benefit of the Snow Leopard users. (Caption button positioning is still off, but at least it's functional now.)

If you need a Netscape-style suite, try SeaMonkey for NoScript web access.KlarkKentThe3rd wrote:Maybe one day I will be a hacker genius and capable of doing that.SpockFan02 wrote:I've heard that uBlock Origin in advanced mode, uMatrix, and YesScript provide similar functionality.

That doesn't seem right....SpockFan02 wrote:...NoScript is known to be problematic in Pale Moon. Even when disabled, NoScript breaks things.

Off-topic:
It isn't. But it's what happens anyway, so.. I don't know what NoScript does, but it certainly doesn't play nice with us.mike18xx wrote:That doesn't seem right....SpockFan02 wrote:...NoScript is known to be problematic in Pale Moon. Even when disabled, NoScript breaks things.

I take it that by advanced mode in uBlock Origin, you mean that the box for "I am an advanced user" is checked. How would one block javascript for specific sites with uBlock Origin?

I'm not sure, as I do not use uBlock Origin.Goodydino wrote:I take it that by advanced mode in uBlock Origin, you mean that the box for "I am an advanced user" is checked. How would one block javascript for specific sites with uBlock Origin?

Here's the link for 28.0.0b3: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yV-pk_ ... sp=sharing
This build has SpockFan02's partially fixed private browsing windows, and for whatever reason the "close" button in the customize window is working properly again.
Cheers

What about 10.6.8? Many Mac Users run software that is not working in newer OS versions and therefore keep the older machings running. For these machines Pale Moon was perfect compared to the latest chrome or firefox versions that still work with 10.6.8.

Re: Pale Moon 28.0.0b1
Since Firefox 49, Mozilla has not supported OS X 10.6-10.8. UXP is a fork of Mozilla 52 ESR, and while we can still build for 10.7 and up, this is no longer true for 10.6. It might be possible to revert some changes and get it back into a working (or at least building) state for Snow Leopard, but I don't think anyone's working on that (and Tobin told me he didn't think it was worth it).MSMunich wrote:What about 10.6.8? Pale Moon 27.9 is still receiving security updates for a bit longer, and the latest release is compatible with 10.6. There are a few other browsers that may work for you—Have you tried iCab?

How do I trick Blogspot (dot com) into thinking this build of Palemoon is some other browser?
I did that with the previous build, but asking again just in case about:config works differently here.

Re: Pale Moon 28.0.0b1
For future reference, site-specific UA overrides were restored in UXP, so it works the same as in Pale Moon 27: Navigate to about:config, accept the risk of dragons, create a new preference called general.useragent.override.domain.tld, and set it to the user agent you want to use for that site.
Re: Pale Moon 28.0.0b1
I've been consistently having problems with these builds, wicknix. Sometimes when attempting to access Google, it just gives me a blank screen and hangs. I also can't type a search query in the address bar without it timing out, which isn't a problem in the latest sugis build. I'm currently running 10.13.6 (17G65).
Another major issue is that the browser will sometimes decide to force my Dock to disappear while Pale Moon is active, which can also cause the browser to hijack my clicks when swapping between programs. I'm not sure what the differences are between build environments, but if I can do anything to help debug these issues I'd be happy to try.

Re: Pale Moon 28.0.0b1
Hmmm. Do you have any extensions/themes installed? I can only test up to 10.11.6, but nothing newer. I can't reproduce your issues at all on any version of osx (10.7-10.11). Does SeaMonkey act the same way? It is also still compiled with the 10.7 sdk. If SeaMonkey works fine, then it might be a corrupt profile, or a problematic extension you're using with PM.
Cheers

Only uBlock (with updater) and NoScript. I download YT videos with youtube-dl (unashamedly best for that site), and a different downloader on Waterfox for all other sites.wicknix wrote:Hmmm.
