I reinstalled 34.0.1, and the 2 websites above don't crash Pale Moon now.
I'm happy to test other things to assist.
Thanks

Does 34.1 have the same issue as 34.2?Mavericks_10_9 wrote: ↑2026-04-10, 02:09

Apologies! I missed 34.1 due to travel. Installed it now.
No crashes of those 2 sites with 34.1
(weather.com is extremely burdensome for this old box... it barely renders at all. but no crash now.)

Re: 34.2.0 -- 2 websites that crash
Can you post a crash log? I think I may have seen an unexpected crash on 10.7 in the font subsystem.
I am wondering if it is the same thing.

Attached is a .zip file containing the crash logs and dot files for videohelp, wunderground, yahoo/news, ca.news.yahoo, cbc.ca/lite.
These logs are for 34.2.2, after I trashed 34.1.0 except for the Caches, and Application Support folders.

Re: 34.2.0 -- 2 websites that crash
At least one of those crashes is one I was able to reproduce on 10.7. Might be related to the recent system font changes or the SDK change. It is a crash in the font subsystem, but oddly it isn't directly in our code.
I will try to have a fix for the next major version.

Re: 34.2.0 -- 2 websites that crash
Ok, I have identified the problem as the special system font handling we added a few versions ago. I added some code to disable it at runtime unless on Yosemite (10.10) or later and it appears stable on 10.7. I am going to see if there is a fix for the code on 10.7-10.9 without disabling, but worst case the code will be disabled on those versions of MacOS in the next major release.

Re: 34.2.0 -- 2 websites that crash
High Sierra: I have a reproducible crash with any google.com domain and subdomain, including gmail
This emerged in Pale Moon 34.2.0 and persists in 34.2.2 – crashes are instant when the domain starts to load.
I have reverted to 34.1.0 to be able to use gmail.
MacBook Air (Early 2015), Intel i7 2.2 GHz, 8GB RAM
macOS 10.13.6
Happy to provide logs.

Adding that Instagram.com instantly crashes Pale Moon 34.1.0 after passing the login page. I can't test 34.2.x as that crashes when google.com domains loadMyMacaroon wrote: ↑2026-05-11, 10:21High Sierra: I have a reproducible crash with any google.com domain and subdomain, including gmail

Re: 34.2.0 -- 2 websites that crash
The crash on 10.13 can you send me the logs?
The font code we introduced was supposed to be disabled on MacOS prior to Sierra (10.12), but it was not.
My understanding is the code should work on MacOS 10.12 and later, so 10.13 issues might be something else.

Ok, well still waiting for the 10.13 crash logs, but in the meantime please try this build and see if the crashes are fixed.
