Websites not rendering ok / Macos 10.8

Unread post by pacopacopaco » 2024-03-04, 16:41

Images not showing properly or are invisible. Text is invisible too.

How could this be solved?

By including more details for starters
We are not mind readers to know what websites you're talking about or what errors your console shows.

You're totally right!!

For example, this:

Shows this in console:

[DEPRECATED] Default export is deprecated. Instead use `import { create } from 'zustand'`.

Imdb renders fine for me, what is the problem here?

First, are you using the latest version of PaleMoon, which is 33.0.2?
If not, download - http://www.palemoon.org/download.shtml - and install the latest version and check if the site works on it.

Second, if you are using the latest version of PaleMoon and still having issues with the website, we have to figure out whether the problem is really with the PaleMoon browser or due to addons or customisation you have made to it. To do this, do the following:

1. Open PaleMoon.

2. In the address bar type about:profiles

3. In the About Profiles page, click the button called "Create a New Profile".

4. The Profile Creator will pop-up. Click the "Continue" button on it.

5. It will ask you to give a name to the profile. In "Enter new profile name:" type "Test Site" and click the "Done" button.

6. Now, the About Profiles page will list the new profile created by you under the heading "Profile: Test Site". Under this there will be a set of buttons. Click the "Launch profile in new browser" button.

7. A new PaleMoon window will launch. (Check the macOS dock). (This Palemoon window will appear like a fresh install of PaleMoon with default values and none of your addons. Do not make any changes to it).

8. In this new PaleMoon window, open imdb.com and check how it renders.

9. If everything looks ok, it means that there is no problem with PaleMoon and the website is breaking because of some addon or changes you made to PaleMoon.

10. If the website still appears broken, in the new PaleMoon window with a new profile, then please post the following information: all the info from console, and all the information on the "Troubleshooting Information" page (Click on the menu Help > Troubleshooting Information and then the "Copy text to clipboard" button). Note that this should be from the new PaleMoon window with the "Test Site" profile.)

This is likely a graphics driver problem. Disable hardware acceleration and see if the problem persists:

Pale Moon -> Settings -> Advanced -> Use hardware acceleration when available

If that fixes the problem please let me know which model Mac and specific MacOS version you are using so I can add a blacklist for your driver.

I have the same problem, I'm using a Mac model and after following the steps Pale Moon -> Settings -> Advanced -> Use hardware acceleration when available I don't see much speed improvement.

Unchecking it will make it slower but will hopefully correct the rendering. If there are driver issues I can add a blacklist which will automatically disable hardware acceleration for models using that driver, but I need the hardware and driver information reported in about:support

Fine for me. Are you using antivirus software with "web shields" or similar web traffic monitoring? If so, you may have to install their certificate if you don't want to disable it (I personally don't recommend using these kinds of things but it's your own choice)
