Support and discussions for the Apple Mac OSX builds of Pale Moon

Important note:
The Mac OSX version of Pale Moon is still very much in development. Your assistance in bringing this build to fruition is greatly appreciated, but you can expect there to be bugs and problems for a while yet!

Any specific bugs you find that don't have their own topic yet: please make a new topic; one bug per topic please to keep things organized.

Please also note that these builds are currently created by Sugis and Moonchild will likely not be able to provide insight or assistance due to lack of Mac hardware and OS/build knowledge for Mac.

Scroll bar thumbs invisible at some sites

Unread post by plushkava » 2019-04-15, 23:29

Having tested NewMoon 24.8.1 in High Sierra, I found the scroll bar handle to be invisible upon visiting certain sites. In fact, the issue appears identical to one that I previously reported to the Waterfox project. Said issue contains further details, along with a fix.

Can verify that the issue is real.

Was it ever in doubt?

Do you mean the site mentioned (https://testpilot.firefox.com/) on that page has no scrollbar? The only reason it had no scrollbar for me was that the height of the window was more than the height of the page, and therefore no scrollbar was needed. If I reduced the height of the browser window, the scrollbar appeared.

No, that isn't what I meant; the bug under discussion has no impact on that particular site. In any case, the fix has been committed to the UXP repository. All that remains is for a new Mac build to arrive that benefits from it.

EDIT: It may have been that the testpilot site was affected at the time that Graham Perrin brought it up. I do not know for certain, as I did not test it at the time. There are other sites that can be used to demonstrate the issue, such as Ars Technica.

Even with the default theme, I still see a scrollbar at arstechnica.com. Would the version of MacOS being used make any difference?
