Developer tools missing from stevenpusser 27.0.3 buillds
Developer tools missing from stevenpusser 27.0.3 buillds
The builds found at https://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=home%3Astevenpusser&package=palemoon, despite being the same version (27.0.3) as the mainline standalone .tar.bz2 portable Linux build avaialble from the official website (which does have the built-in devtools), lack the built-in devtools. (At least, 27.0.3~repack-1 does.)
(I hesitated to post this in the "contributed builds" forum as it is to do with a "fully-endorsed" build; but if it needs to go there, I won't complain)

Moved it to the 3rd party builds -- even if fully endorsed, its' still a 3rd party build under the responsibility of the build's specific maintainer.

Since it's a fully endorsed build (and, presumably, you have spoken with its maker to ascertain appropriate QA, licensing, etc.), would you mind passing this bug report along to him? The posted maintainer address is unreachable:Moonchild wrote:Moved it to the 3rd party builds -- even if fully endorsed, its' still a 3rd party build under the responsibility of the build's specific maintainer.

I've sent Steve a message.
Re: Developer tools missing from stevenpusser 27.0.3 buillds
This does get me wondering: what other differences are there between the official builds and Steve's? Until this, I'd assumed that all the guy was doing was just packaging official builds…

None. Steve's builds are the same as official, besides not being compiled in CentOS.Agent Orange wrote:what other differences are there between the official builds and Steve's?

Re: Developer tools missing from stevenpusser 27.0.3 buillds
Since there are more problems with Steve's builds and a total lack of response to attempts at contacting him, I'm unfortunately forced to revoke official branding permission for them.
For future reference, third-party builds, if they are given as an OS distribution's main package for Pale Moon, should contain all components also found in our 1st-party supplied binaries (including devtools) and of similar quality. As a maintainer, you should also make sure your contact details are up-to-date and that you respond reasonably promptly to issues raised and questions asked by the main-line developers.

For the record, Steven's build configuration has been ironed out and should be fully acceptable for any Debian/Ubuntu distro.
