Re: Pale Moon x86-64 SSE2/AVX2
dav1d works fine in Pale Moon on my AMD Phenom II, better than the previous library in fact, can watch 24FPS 1080p videos on YouTube in this format while the old library would struggle with 720p. Need Project VORAPIS too as stock YouTube won't serve AV1 to this browser.
Though technically this CPU is more like SSE3, with SSE4A and 3DNow! which nobody uses I guess.

Off-topic:
AFAIK, Chromium's minimum requirement happens to be SSE3.
Edit: I guess it depends on the video, some are definitely better, some are still laggy. So far, I wouldn't say anything is worse than with previous library.AFAIK, Chromium's minimum requirement happens to be SSE3.

Did you build your own? My SSE2 builds have dav1d disabled(libaom enabled instead).

Yes, with default options, so it ends up with dav1d. It also doesn't build without putting nasm.exe in Mozilla Build's bin folder, which is specifically required for building with dav1d.
720p playback is definitely consistently better, no hiccups. With 1080p, some videos still play with hiccups while others don't, with libaom, even 720p played with hiccups, so overall, it's a win with no noticeable drawbacks.
The only thing I'm still curious about, does anyone here still have a Pentium 4 without SSE3 (newer ones have SSE3, older ones don't)? That would be good to make comparison and verify if at least lower resolution videos still play correctly just in case 720p is too much. If you want to be sure everything still works correctly with pure SSE2, that is.
