New Question on Old Issue (KB 2670838)

Did the usual search, but came up empty. Is it still recommended not to install Microsoft update KB 2670838?
I use IE as my backup browser and I really would like to use the most recent version. Hopefully with Pale Moon 25 coming out tomorrow I won't have to use IE any more at all. (I had to use it last week to watch a football game broadcast.)

On four of my hard drives running Windows 7 (have four computers), I "do not" have the KB 2670838 update installed from Microsoft. In fact, I've hidden it so it never shows as an update anymore.
That update gave me problems on one of my computers forcing me to re-install Windows 7. So for me, I think this Microsoft update is nothing but.........CRAP.

Either way should be OK now. I've worked on this in the 24.6/24.7 rework of the graphics engine, and all should be fixed for when the update is installed.
I've seen the update cause issues in other programs as well in Windows 7 but it's rare. So, it's a mixed bag - I'm using it myself without issues, but it's still completely optional to install the "Windows 8 DirectX platform" (which is basically what this is) on top of Windows 7 in most cases.
