PM for the Atom / XP - Unoptimized?

Post by sqelch7 » 2014-09-15, 22:18

In the anouncement of discontinued XP version of PM, something was mentioned of substituting an alternative variant. The Atom version? How will this effect continued use of Pm on XP SP3 ( AMD 64x2) ? Loss of optimizaton means what?

It will still be optimized, but will use some slower paths for certain functions when not running on Intel Atom (slower than the builds that don't optimize specifically for Atom). In practice, this will at most cost you a few % (if that) so not something that is noticeable in normal use.
