Used Nightly for the first time in ages and . . .

. . . Though I didn't notice a performance gain over PM, it, for the most part, worked OK. But I was reminded of an annoying problem I used to experience in FF: Freezing every five or ten seconds—something I've never experience while using PM.

Many wouldn't pay heed to that freezing problem, but it sure drove me nuts. (That problem, by the way, is what made me seek out a FF alternative).

So what is it that causes this freezing in FF? And what in Pale Moon has been changed to make it not happen?

Why are you comparing the two? Nightly is very much an alpha and you are advised that it may cause problems. I do have it to see the direction Mozilla are taking and apart from the occasional glitch it works OK but I certainly wouldn't use it as my default browser.
