Keeping bookmark window open

Unread post by Ryrynz » 2013-08-18, 08:50

Does anyone know of any tweaks where the bookmark window stays showing after opening a favorite in a new tab?
Generally if you're opening in a new background tab you'd maybe wish to open more than one window so this would be nice.

Don't know about the bookmark window. I tend to use the bookmarks sidebar which I can keep open unless I particularly need the horizontal space.

Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but presume you don't want your bookmarks permanently displayed. You could download and have a play with this add-on that allows you to auto-hide the bookmarks sidebar which might provide a partial solution. Sidebar Auto Show/Hide: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefo ... -showhide/

If you don't like the sidebar but would prefer a separate window, then one solution is the new "Library" window,

If you display traditional menus, select : Bookmarks –> Rearrange all bookmarks (ctrl-shift-B)
If you display short menus and the Palemoon button, select: Pale Moon –> Bookmarks –> Display all bookmarks

Then you get the separate "Library" window that displays either bookmarks, history and downloads. When you click on a bookmarked link, the window remains open.

Thanks guys. This pretty much solves it.
