Is WebGL such a big deal?
It seems that browser fingerprinting is pretty ineffective, and that using add-ons to block it is ironically going to make it more useful for advertisers, not less. It's almost as if fingerprinting was invented as a trap for the privacy-conscious lol. So my today I'm asking: how (in)effective is WebGL fingerprinting at identifying you (assuming you're on a VPN), and how likely is it that it'll actually be used on the vast majority of sites? Also, just out of curiosity, how does Tor circumvent this problem, if at all?

Actually, using browser fingerprinting doesn't care how you connect to the 'net. A VPN won't stop it.
Tor circumvents it as per usual: by completely disabling or crippling it.
