hello,
The Mozilla Foundation is 20 years old and to celebrate this, it has updated its manifesto whose principles enacted more than 10 years ago no longer necessarily correspond to the current problems of the web. Mitchell Baker, President of the Foundation, looks back at these new political, economic and philosophical issues:

FireFox Security and privacy are not negotiable
Re: FireFox Security and privacy are not negotiable
Mozilla hasn't followed their own manifest for years. So whatever the new one is, is probably just as much a pack of lies.

Just a few things that stood out to me.
Really? "They" have been blocking? Talk about a slap in the face to add on developers.
Oh, this one is great.
At one point we thought about giving up that cash cow Google, but when we realized how badly we needed the money, we simply
thew all principles to the wind and figured nobody would really care.
Oh this is rich,
their face and they jumped. Either that, or their flat out lying. I would say both.
To the dust bin with all of them.
Seriously?Individuals must have control over their data.
We have been blocking ads for 10 years now.

Let me fix this for you.At one point, we thought about not accepting more money from Google, but in fact, all that would have been to put that money in the pockets of their shareholders, so it would not helped big world. But for a moment we seriously thought about whether or not we should have economic relations with Google.
At one point we thought about giving up that cash cow Google, but when we realized how badly we needed the money, we simply

So they bundle a piece of software with their browser and they don't know how it works? Sounds like some cash was waved in front ofFirst of all, we did not know how to explain how the machine worked and it caused a lot of misunderstandings.
their face and they jumped. Either that, or their flat out lying. I would say both.
And they wonder why they got a back lash?Usually, this kind of service works by sucking all the personal data of the user in order to serve him the information or the most targeted advertising possible. In our case, it's your local copy of Firefox that sorts it. After all, your profile on your machine already knows you well. And of course it is always possible to leave the program.
And this is why people with half a brain are leaving FF in droves. But if we never manage to arrange everyone, we always make sure to incorporate that kind of thinking into the design of our products.
Ahhh, here is the worse part, this is 1984 Orwellington thought at it's worse, and true double speak. First they are saying they are joining the Google Facebook censorship bandwagon and in the same breath they say they are for promoting critical thinking. Yeah, as long as it's what they want you to think. Finally, and finally, you recently launched the "Mozilla Information Trust Initiative" to combat the spread of false news. Why does the Mozilla Foundation care about this stuff? It seems more like a political fight ...
If you look at our manifesto, you will find the answer to your question. One article explains that "we are fighting for an Internet that promotes critical thinking, reasoned reasoning, knowledge sharing and fact-checking".
And this says it all, what a slick, forked tongue she has. What she is really saying is that it has nothing to do with truth and real facts. But to a "commitment" but then not really telling you what that "commitment" is. Their goal is thought control, just like Google and Facebook. But be careful, the words are carefully chosen to reflect a commitment and not a strict moral positioning.
To the dust bin with all of them.
Re: FireFox Security and privacy are not negotiable
Mozilla is just another Google in disguise today. Inspired by Google, corrupted by Google. Taking them seriously is a waste of time and effort. I congratulate everyone who is realizing that and is uninstalling, no matter which browser they are going to use afterwards - even Chromium based browsers like Vivaldi or Opera are more recommended than the fake-Firefox of today. Soon the only kind of user base which will be using Firefox are Reddit and general trolls, people who down-vote and attack every opinion which goes against mainstream. Mozilla and those trolls... a fitting match!Thehandyman1957 wrote:Just a few things that stood out to me.
