Hard to say but i leave
Hard to say but i leave
I'm now forum member since Jan 2012 and start quickly as beta tester and later as german translator for language packs, but sadly because of changing my needs i will leave this team and forum.
I just want say thanks to all guys, specific to Moonchild, for all the work and wish you all good luck
Maybe i come back some day but cant say that yet.
If someone get problems with german translation from now, loxodont is your man.
Also it would be nice if someone (if not already) have a eye for users @Reddit
Good bye guys

If you decide to go to use Firefox, there are much better alternatives around, Mozilla are no good guys anymore

Perhaps needs for more webcompatibility ecmascript wise? But in that case, once UXP hits, it will get delivered.Moonraker wrote:needs...? i dont understand..what needs.?

Considering he asked for his account to be deleted and was purportedly vague, I guess we'll never know.

I've seen dark_moon advocate uMatrix a number of times, so I suspect that's an important factor. If he's really attached to using that tool then he'd definitely want Firefox or something Chrome. (XUL support was dropped months ago and gorhill has done a ton of work on uMatrix since then.)
I can relate to being very attached to gorhill's work. There's no way I'd use a browser without a properly functioning uBlock Origin.

i never base my browser choice on extensions alone,i will not give extension developers that amount of influence and power..UBO is great though.

Re: Hard to say but i leave
Depends how you look at it -- yes, the browser is a stand-alone tool that can be extended, but in practice we can get very attached to our customized version of it. I respect the fact that you won't let yourself get overly attached to any particular extension.
As for us uBO zealots, the good news is it's very viable to preserve what we already have of it indefinitely as a XUL add-on. Thankfully it already reached a high level of maturity and capability before the recent regressions.

I'm sorry you're leaving.
You - your integrity and concern for other users - will be missed.
Goodbye and best wishes for your life.
Re: Hard to say but i leave
Gee.
If I were working at developing another/rival browser, use/develop that browser at work and use Pale Moon/Basilisk at home.
Simple as that.
It isn't "cheating", BTW.

Ow, that's bad news, sorry to see you "quit" (I thought The Book of Pale Moon doesn't allow that )dark_moon wrote: ...

Anyway, I appreciated your translation work (more than you might think ) and your forum support with technical knowledge (that I unfortunately don't have), so this hard cut isn't good in my view, but following your changing needs is OK and I honestly wish you all the best for this.
THX for the reddit link and keep it straight, dude

That seems kind of extreme. All you have to do is stop posting, stop visiting. To ask for an account to be deleted is rather pointed, as though there was some anger or hurt feelings.Moonchild wrote:Considering he asked for his account to be deleted and was purportedly vague, I guess we'll never know.

Sadly, he is now on the dark side of the moon. So we shall never know.
