Quiz, no cheating. Windows 10.
Quiz, no cheating. Windows 10.
So.. Without cheating and looking it up, can you answer this question correctly?
This is about the Windows 10 throbber, you know, the animated dots in a circle.

Let me just say that this is the most annoying animation... ever. Ruins the Windows 8.1 experience too.

My computer boots up to fast for it to appear. :)mr tribute wrote:Ruins the Windows 8.1 experience too.

It's used in many places, Tomaso. When installing updates, when booting, when making system changes that take time, when performing a system upgrade, etc.
Clearly, everyone has seen the throbber before, enough, to know it

Aand.. the results:
12 of you had it correct! "I'm not sure how many", because Microsoft isn't sure how many there should be either!
The most common occurrence is 6 dots, but in a good number of places (including the first boot screen) it's 5. So yeah, not consistent at all.
I know, kind of a trick question, but... you'd expect something like that to be consistent for a large prestigious project like Windows, right?

Re: Quiz, no cheating. Windows 10.
I spent ages staring at it the other day when it was updating windows and showing the larger version. I found counting them most confusing, thought at first it was 6 but settled eventually on 5. Interesting that in some of its other showings it is 6, maybe these are optical illusions. Has anybody done static screen shots which is probably the only way to be sure?

Some examples screenshot then!
Bootup screen (and also "login"): 5 Restart and any other full-screen throbber: 6
