Removing Telemetry in NVIDIA drivers

Personally, I always run a custom install, and make sure to remove everyting but the drivers themselves and the PhysX software.
..but even then, the setup tries to connect to the internet like crazy!
Here's a screenshot that I took after installing the previous drivers:

The picture shows all the processes that I had to block with my firewall during installation, and after running the 'LED Visualizer' to turn off the damn leds that lit up my cabinet like a Christmas tree!
Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, I installed the latest version just now (v365.10).
The sneaky install process also triggers, and tries to connect through, Windows PowerShell now:

For those of you that haven't noticed, Nvidia has added even more crap to their driver packages lately:

This can be disabled from the Nvidia Control Panel:

Microsoft's Windows 10 S laptop was just officially announced. I am curious what people here think about this product? It is designed primarily for students, especially high school level, but not limited to them.

I did find one part of what I read amusing as all get out. Microsoft stated that when used in schools teachers would be able to delete "bad" posts or to silence any given tablet in their classroom. Now I am less tech savvy than the average 10 year old today, but even I cannot help but wonder how long it will take the first teenager to find the hack that will circumvent these features?

I use the Nvidia GForce GT ver. 630 378.92 and do not see what you showed re Help in the Control Panel.

That's because they've just added it in their latest drivers.
I'm using v381.89.

You're right.
Can't believe that I missed this.
NvTelemetryContainer.exe was still running, and still trying to connect to the internet!
Thanks for pointing it out.
I didn't spot it the last time that I checked in Task Manager, and since I already had it blocked with my firewall, I didn't notice any activity from it either.

Anyway, I've disabled it from Services now.

Also, I booted into Safe Mode and deleted these folders all together, just to be sure:
C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\***.**\****_****_**\International\NvTelemetry
C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NvTelemetry
C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\NvTelemetry

Now, there's no more "Experience Improvement Programme" crap to be seen in Nvidia's control panel anymore!

I weren't able to delete this folder in normal mode:
C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NvTelemetry
..although, I couldn't find any evidence of its files being in use.

You'll find a couple more of Nividia's telemetry folders that you can delete at this location:
C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Installer2
..and a "NvTelemetry.dll" file inside of here:
C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Installer2\InstallerCore

Also, there's two more telemetry folders here:
C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\NvTelemetry
C:\Users\All Users\NVIDIA Corporation\NvTelemetry

..and a couple of telemetry files inside of these folders:
C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA
C:\Users\All Users\NVIDIA

But since modifying these folders requires you to take ownership of them, you should probably leave them alone, to avoid problems.
I think that what we've described in our previous post will make sure that the telemetry is disabled!

I miss the days when I had a Voodoo 2 graphics card.
The drivers used to have a total file size of about 2 MB.

A friend of mine asked my to help him out with this stuff a couple of days ago, so I wrote these instructions: At least, this is the way I do it.
It should be considered informational.
If anyone knows a better way of doing it, or think that I've missed something, then please let me know.

Sorry Guys if I moved these stuff from the Windows 10 thread, but I think that these handy instructions are worth a whole topic for them. :D

I'm talking about the driver version.
Latest version is 382.05.
If you're using drivers older than v38x, then Nvidia's latest telemetry features aren't present.

But why my TaskManager look so for NVidia?
