Well.. I don't see this affecting either fork of of Adblock Plus.. unless they radically change the filterlist format.. Which is entirely possible but not likely in the near term.. Even if this was to happen.. I am sure I could whip up some sort of translation layer on a server to deal with it.. Either way.. Yeah.. No surprise there then.

Expect to see it happen for every other major extension as well as they claim no choice but choosing to ignore us and YOU.

Because we have no other choice. Mozilla’s current plan is that Firefox 57 (scheduled for release on November 14, 2017) will no longer load classic extensions, and only Web Extensions are allowed to continue working. So we have to replace the current Adblock Plus by a Web Extension by then or ideally even by the time Firefox 57 is published as a beta version. Otherwise Adblock Plus will simply stop working for the majority of our users.

The real question here is why are people still using Adblock Plus with Pale Moon when it is known to be busted and even dangerous to run on Pale Moon due to incompatibilities and the Adblock Plus developers refused to support you.. There are, count them, two Adblock Family forks (Adblock Latitude and ABPrime) that support Pale Moon not to mention other adblocking extensions like uBlock..

If the filter list URLs or format changes then solutions will be provided for supported forks..

Though, because Pale Moon is not Firefox and never will be again.. Adblock Plus, such as it is, won't stop working as far as the parts that are still functioning on Pale Moon just because Firefox 57 releases..

So why does anyone particularly care?
