Cannot get Sync to work (Solved)

Hello all, I am running Xp pro with 26.5 and have successfully set up Sync on this browser. I also am now running 27.2.1 on a QStudio64 17.3 Xi 64bit running on a external Esata drive.

I am tying to get my passwords on the new browser. 27.2.1 will let me enter my email, password, and my recovery key but when I hit the next button
it just sits there.

I also tried to copy the the two files pertaining to my passwords in my profile to the new 27.2.1 but when looking for my passwords it is blank.

I also created a new profile on 27.2.1 and then copied the whole profile just to see if it would indeed transfer the passwords but still no go.
Yes I know you should not do this but that is why I created a separate profile just to test this. In the end I deleted that profile as it did not work.

I even tried the add on "Password Exporter" but even that would not work.

So I am at a loss on how to make this work. Any idea's?
Also just for info, I am only trying to import my passwords, bookmarks and history. The others are all unchecked.

There were changes in how saved passwords are stored between PM 26 & PM 27 ... maybe try the steps under "Saved Passwords Missing" from this FAQ entry?

Or maybe use the "set up sync" option in 27.2.1 and "pair a device" in 26.5, see if that works to get sync working between the two installations.

Ok so I figured out the problem. Corrupted profile. I created a new profile and tried sync and it worked just fine.

It's weird, I have only had the new one running a couple of days. Seems hard to believe I could have already borked it.

Ah well. Now back to your regularly scheduled nonsense. ;)

Very glad to hear you figured it out. Yah, corrupted profiles can be a pain, fer sure.

Well it turns out that it was not a corrupted profile as I thought. It was this add on " Remember Passwords 1.0.2

When I removed it, I was able to use FEBE to restore my passwords. I tried a few of my sites that required a password and it seems to be working like it should.

So thankfully I did not have to go through all the trouble of getting a new profile up and going how I wanted. I had spent 2 days working on this new one for
Linux and I was not looking forward to redoing it again.
