I don't care for it much, sounds like a bland song from the 80's. His new album Traces will be released October 5th.

I like it maybe because I was and still am a big Journey's fan. :) Now, another blast from the past which is my past.

That was amazing! I do like 80s for some reason. This just made my day. Thank you!

Someone here mentioned the theme from Dune a couple weeks ago. I finally watched Dune in its entirety, and I thought it was a really good movie. The movie's universe is much bigger than the movie, and the whole story revolves around a Messianic message. Sting (from Dire Straits and Police) is in it. However, I don't think Sting wrote any of the music. Brian Eno wrote the prophecy theme, and like someone mentioned earlier Toto played the credits.

That was me. I posted the video to the Dune movie ending credits when the music was played.

Sure thing. I was shocked when I ran into it the other day - I was on youtube and the video was sitting there and I'm thinking.. I don't know any song by Steve Perry called No Erasin'.. and then I saw it was new. He's been talking about doing a new album for like 10 years or so but it just would never happen. I read an interesting interview with him the other day in which he talks about his various issues and why he hasn't recorded for so long. He talks a little bit about his recent marriage to a psychologist who had cancer and so he went through that with her and she passed away and was some of the inspiration for the new album and making music. I'm looking forward to hearing more tracks and hope he has great success with the new album.

Early Monday morning down here in southeast Texas where I live. Going to be another 97 degree F hot scorcher of a day. With the temperature so hot, I'm going to stay inside because if I don't, the sun will make short work of me and there won't be much of me left.

So, I don't know. It seems to me that after the official
28 release that the forum seems kinda packed. And there seems to be a fair share of "My browser don't work now, but Im not gonna take the time to actually give you any info so we can fix it people" and it reminded me of this song.

For me, it'd be what my current favourite electronic song is currently, which changes every few weeks or so.

As of posting this, it is: Kovan & Electro-Light - Skyline

I like a multitude of music styles. One of those styles in souhern rock and/or southern blues. In the 80's, Disco was the "in thing". Tony Joe White does a lot of southern rock/blues. His southern drawl and husky sounding voice make this type of music in my opinion. The song below was made in the era of Disco, but this one has a southern flair. The video was recorded "live" in Austin, Texas.

Tony Joe White - "Disco Blues".

The Recording Industry Association of America has just announced that the Eagles album "Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975", is now once again the best selling album of all time (in the US), going 38x platinum (38 Million copies sold), blasting past Michael Jackson's 2nd place Thriller which is certified 33X platinum.

Additionally, the Eagles album "Hotel California" is now in third place at 26X platinum.

Now that's just nuts. While the Eagles have some great songs, I wouldn't say they're the best or anything. I can see how Michael Jackson would take that place since he was after all the "king of pop." Boy was he popular back in the 80's.

I thought I would venture into some of the european rock groups. One of them is a Dutch group named Within Temptation (from the Netherlands). The lead singer of the group is a female whose name is Sharon den Adel. There are quite a few european female singers. Another one is named Anneke Van Giersbergen. Anneke is a singer in the all female group named The Sirens.

Below is a song from Within Tempations with both female singers doing a duet. They have beautiful voices and what I like about both of them, in this duet, they don't try to out do each other. When the symbols are being tapped quickly by the drummer, look to the far right of this video and you'll see Anneke coming down the stairs and the audience definitely know who she is.

This video was recorded with the Metropole Orchestra in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. So this song below will be my theme song for today.

So today was a nice relaxing day and I got to see a friend I haven't seen in awhile.
I don't get many days like this and when I heard this song I thought it fit the mood of my day.

I'm sure everyone has heard rap music. Well, I don't think anyone on this site has ever heard of "swamp rap" which is basically a fork of rap. Give a listen below.

Since this is a Labor Day Weekend holiday, my next door neighbor decided to take his wife and two children down to the beach and spend Saturday, Sunday and part of Monday morning down on the upper Texas coast. He said they'd return back late Monday evening. So he asked me if I would look after his empty house and oh by the way, take care of his indoor cat for the duration of the time they were gone. I said, "Sure, no problem. Just give me a call so I know when you're leaving".

Well, instead of giving me a call, he sent his youngest daughter over with a gigantic pot of "cajon Louisiana swamp style shrimp gumbo" made from scratch. The best kind, "spicy". After consuming two large bowls of the great tasting gumbo earlier this evening, I thought this song below would be appropriate.

Tony Joe White - "Gumbo John".
