No clearing data in 'top sites' and when closing browser

Hi,
1) why is the tab 'top sites' not also cleared in the Android browser, when I choose in settings "clear private data". In the 'top sites' tab there is also no possibility to clear anything.
2) why no possibility to clear private data automatically when closing the browser ?

I agree. I would also like to eliminate the Top Sites tab.

Me too. That's what I came here for!

It's a bit laborious but I see you can at least clear them by going into history, selecting the page - holding down until a pop-up with option 'Remove' appears, and selecting the entry in Top Sites - again holding down and selecting to pin it. Then again to unpin it. Presumably if you have history deleted on closing you can do this faster. But if you accidentally tap rather than hold, it goes back into history and back into Top Sites.

Even CCleaner doesn't do a very good job of this stuff.
