Latest Update Broke MeWe.

Unread post by Uppity » 2021-04-03, 04:05

Since the last update a couple of days ago, I am unable to get into MeWe, and get the following error:
Your browser is not supported.

We cannot provide a good experience to your browser.
To use this site, please upgrade to the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge or some other modern browser.
https://mewe.com/modern-browser
I presume this is a MeWe problem, unless someone knows different.
Not a big loss, anyway.

The Pale Moon update is unrelated to what MeWe did at the same time.
I wish people would stop immediately blaming the browser as a first response. ESPECIALLY if it was a minor update that wouldn't introduce new functionality.

So the proper one-liner for what happened is: MeWe broke compatibility with us.

Thank you for that link, badnick.

Thank you, Moonchild. I would not have suspected it to be a google issue, given that they want to be an alternative to Facebook.

You do such a superb job with Pale Moon, that I never considered the issues related..... Regardless of a bad choice of topic.

Sorry about that...

I try to avoid google, but will use different browsers if I really want to see something.

Otherwise, nMatrix always blocks anything google, which botched a transaction through paypal. And google is just one reason I don't use paypal, as a rule. The exception is ebay, as I just do not trust paypal. I'm beginning to wonder about ebay, as well.

So, I presumed correctly that it was a MeWe problem and it is still not a big loss, so I've involuntarily abandoned a small group I started there, recently.

Please see this post in the thread that badnick linked for an apparent workaround.

Thanks, coffeebreak.

I tried that user agent over-ride, but it failed.

I think the issue is one of blocking google via nMatrix, and nothing will change until I quit blocking them.

I often do without, if I can not find a work around.

MeWe is not a big loss.
