Cannot display xe.com

Unread post by ZFR77 » 2021-02-17, 11:41

When I open the currency exchange site www.xe.com, I get a blank page.

Using version 28.17.0 on Linux Mint 19, using Steve Pusser repository.

The issue happens, even if I restart in Safe Mode. It opens fine if I use Firefox. It also opens fine, when I run it on Pale Moon on my Windows 10 laptop.

Works on Ubuntu 20.10, try creating a new profile for Pale Moon.

Please upgrade to 29.0.1, ASAP. The latest version mitigates a zero-day vulnerability. Steve Pusser's repo should already have the latest version for Debian-based systems.

Also works fine here, using the latest version. I didn't have to create a new profile.

Updating to 29.0.1 fixed it.

"Updating to 29.0.1 fixed it."

For education purposes, does anyone know why? A js problem? I guess it is too late to see with 28.17.0 what you get with View->PageStyle->NoStyle.

I meant the blank-screen issue. Didn't see anything relevant to that mentioned, unless this was a user-agent issue.

If we're going to have to list all websites impacted by each change we'll have release notes spanning the globe ;-)
Especially with 29 being a new milestone and all.

For me on 29.1 it says (right on the page as well as console) - 'Error: (intermediate value).formatToParts is not a function'
"One hosts to look them up, one DNS to find them and in the darkness BIND them."

See viewtopic.php?f=70&t=26468&p=211483&hil ... ts#p211483

Different error; it does display the site but throws an error it should not.
