general.useragent.override - no longer works
Hi!
I updated Palemoon for Linux.
Since release "v2021.01.05 Published 2021-01-05"
Moved the global user-agent override to the networking component. Please note that this may interfere with some "user agent spoofing" extensions.
general.useragent.override in ABOUT:CONFIG no longer works.
How can I turn it back on and use it?
Please help, thanks!

Why do you need to do this that SSUAO isn't enough?

Re: general.useragent.override - no longer works
I need it to get on all sites the specific user-agent that I have set in "general.useragent.override".
This has also worked great so far.
I don't feel like setting the user agent for every single page every time.

I want set "general.useragent.override" globally in Basilisk.
but this does not work anymore since the last 2 updates.
How can I set the USER-AGENT globally in Basilisk?

Welp, you don't seem to have any valid reasoning behind your request and I am not going to facilitate thoughtless laziness.
So unless someone who doesn't actually give a crap about you and your personal enlightenment flat out tells you OR you go find out your self.. I guess you are out of luck.

Also, this is the Pale Moon board. You should be posting to the Basilisk board, not here. I also don't see how this is specific to Linux at all.
I just love Cyndaquil. Obviously the best Johto starter!

Re: general.useragent.override - no longer works
Take a look at the Release notes for PM 28.17 where this change was first formally unveiled.
If it's the same for Basilisk as for PM, the new (hidden) pref name for a global override will be: network.http.useragent.global_override
(browser restart required)
If it's the same for Basilisk as for PM, the new (hidden) pref name for a global override will be: network.http.useragent.global_override

v28.17.0 (2020-12-18)
Implementation notes:
- The global user-agent override was moved to the networking component where it is actually implemented. The new preference name is network.http.useragent.global_override. Please note that using a blanket override is normally (very) counterproductive and does not, in fact, help much with privacy. It would also override the compatibility modes (Native/Gecko/Firefox) in Pale Moon. As such, the browser will now warn you if the user-agent is globally overridden (in preferences) and allow you to easily reset that override and re-enable the various compatibility modes.

Not sure solved is the right word since you clearly aren't justified in using it. Also, you WILL have other web compat issues. So hope you will one day learn why this is bad.

I think "SATISFIED" would be a better tag.
