Segfault when copying images while using clipboard manager

Unread post by tijara » 2020-07-23, 04:02

I'm using CopyQ as a clipboard manager on Linux Mint 20 (same happened in 19).
PM from the Ubuntu PPA crashes consistently upon copying images via right-click context menu while said program is managing the clipboard. I apologize if this is a CopyQ issue, but since PM is the only application that crashes, I'm using it as a starting point.
The crashes happen in safe mode as well. This error is displayed in the terminal:

Code: Select all

I don't get the crashes on Debian Buster-based MX, but I'm using CopyQ 3.12.0. I see that Ubuntu 20.04 has 3.10.0 in its repo, so I assume that's what you're using.

BTW, my OBS repo is not a Launchpad "Ubuntu PPA". as it can build packages for many different distros, though I only know how to use it for the Debian derived ones. People might think one could add it with "apt-add-repository" like a true PPA.

I'm almost positive this is a Qt bug: https://bugreports.qt.io/plugins/servle ... TBUG-56595

I've run into the same issue on occasion when attempting to paste an image from Pale Moon into another Qt-based program, which sometimes causes Pale Moon to crash.

Sorry for not mentioning that, I'm also using CopyQ 3.12 from its own PPA.
Pale Moon is 28.11 but this happened with previous versions as well.

Thanks for the URL.
Looks to be the same problem I'm experiencing: Arch Linux, Palemoon & Qlipper.

Eventually I switched to Clipman because CopyQ was giving me other issues as well.

Yeah, I just switched to parcellite, as nobody seems to be fixing that QT bug, has been there for four years untouched.
