Hi,
I'm running under Debian Stretch / Mate 1.20.4 and latest Pale Moon.
I have two profiles so when I start Pale Moon I am prompted to select a profile.
This dialog opens behind other windows, not in front as I'd expect.
Is there a setting somewhere to control that behavior?
Thanks!
Mark

Is your PM through the distro or direct from Pale Moon?
What desktop manager are you using?

Re: Pale Moon Select Profile opens behind other windows
Running sandboxed (Sandboxie)...
From within my file manager:
go.bat
Seems to load Profile Manager (brought to front) as expected.
Opening a (Windows) Explorer window to the go.bat batch file, sometimes, I'll get a Sandboxie message: SBIE2204 Cannot start standboxed service DcomLaunch (-4) [whatever that means, & in that regard, I can't believe that sandboxie aka Sophos website & all, is still fubared, since early this month].
Anyhow at those times, when I get the Sandboxie message, Profile Manager opens "behind".
In this instance, what is likely happening, though not sure, is that Profile Manager is opening - it is (& screen centered, at that) & then the Sandboxie message (subsequently ?) popups up - also screen centered, so overlaying Profile Manager (again I'm guessing), & with that, it ends "behind".
IOW something happened, another "popup" that popped over the existing popup.
And odd situation, I'd think, in general.
And if on your end, Profile Manager is opening behind otherwise "static" windows that you have open, then it's likely something else.

go.bat
Code: Select all
start x\palemoon.exe -p -no-remote

Re: Pale Moon Select Profile opens behind other windows
Direct through Pale Moon. I installed per the steps on the website and it runs perfectly, prompts when there's an update, etc.
I've tried Marco, Compiz, Marco (adaptive) window managers under Mate. This has been going on for a long time (many Pale Moon updates). I finally want to see if there's a solution.
It's definitely opening OK. If I start minimizing other windows, it's finally there behind them. If I click the taskbar icon from the bottom panel, then it's brought to the front. It's not a huge inconvenience, but I do open Pale Moon several times per day.
Thanks,
Mark

More info -- upon a closer look, the issue is that Pale Moon is not getting focused when I launch it.
