Unable to Play Video on Aljazeera News site Topic is solved

I disabled uBlock Origin and still they will not play.
I restarted PM in SafeMode and still they will not play.

It's necessary to allow cross-site requests from pro.ip-api.com, to play the non-live videos on Al Jazeera.
(this seems to be a recent thing)

Pro.ip-api.com is blocked by two of the hosts file lists in uBO, MVPS Hosts and hpHosts’ Ad and tracking servers
(and by EasyPrivacy as a third-party).

Since you apparently use a systemic hosts file, you might check if your hosts file is blocking pro.ip-api.com.

I commented out pro.ip-api.com on my hosts file and whitelisted it on uBlockOrigin.
Now, it works.

From my end, the videos @ aljazeera.com were blocked by four different filters:

* AdGuard Tracking Protection filter (a.k.a. 'AdGuard Spyware filter'), by the following rules:

||ip-api.com^$third-party

* EasyPrivacy, by the following rule:

||ip-api.com^$third-party

* hpHosts' Ad and tracking servers, by the following rule:

ip-api.com

* MVPS HOSTS, by the following rule:

pro.ip-api.com

I'll report the issue to the respective filter authors.

For now, you can use this exception rule:

how did you know that it is necessary to allow cross-site requests from pro.ip-api.com?

Through trial and error, allowing/disallowing things to see what worked.
The primary source of information and interaction for troubleshooting is the logger.

Showing all blocked requests.

I was wrong.
Got replies from both of the authors today..
The offending rule has been removed from hpHosts' Ad and tracking servers now, and the author of MVPS HOSTS informed me that it will be removed in the next update for that filter too.
This only leaves AdGuard Spyware filter and EasyPrivacy.. and you can watch those issue reports yourself, by following the GitHub links that I provided in my previous post. :)
