Unable to Play Video on Aljazeera News site Topic is solved

I am using Linux antiX and PM 28.4.0. I have a Dell Latitude D610 laptop.
The video's on https://www.aljazeera.com (about half way down the page) will not play.
I have been experiencing this problem for many months, but just never got around to reporting it.
If I right click the video, I get the info which is in the attached jpg below:

I had to click Play, twice (unless I missed a click), but after that it started right up, 101 East, China's TV Confessions.

Yes, it will play on my wife's Windows 10 computer, too. But it won't play on my Linux laptop.

Actually, you just need one of the versions of libavcodec installed--I think for antiX, the default is libavcodec57.

BTW, the video (and commercial) play in 28.4.0 in the related MX 18.1, but that's with the PM from the MX repository. How did you install 28.4.0, since it's not in the antiX repo yet?

I have libavcodec-extra and libavcodec-extra 57 installed.

I updated PM when the new version came out via the main menu: Help >About Pale Moon

You might check your cookie settings.

Cookies need to be accepted from https://brightcove.net as well as from Al Jazeera for the video play, so if you normally block third-party cookies, that could be why it doesn't play.

The China Confessions video played for me with just one left click.

I'm using 64 bit linux Pale Moon 28.4.0 running in 64 bit linux Mint 19.1 (Tessa) Xfce. I had uBlock Origin 1.16.4.8 enabled when I played the video. The site sees my user agent as Firefox Compatibility mode.

You are right. I changed the preference for 3rd Party Cookies to "always" and now the videos work.

Just for info, they'll also work if an exception is set for https://brightcove.net to accept cookies, in lieu of accepting all third-party.

That is much better because I don't like accepting all 3rd party cookies.

Personally, to "never".

But of course whoever uses that setting should be mindful that occasionally there will be the need to unbreak a site.

Well, now there is a new problem with the Aljazeera videos not playing.
I think this time it is a problem with their website because it does not even try to open the videos
Are other people having a problem playing the videos on https://www.aljazeera.com

I clicked on a video and it wouldn't open. But I suspected it was due to uBlock Origin which I have enabled for Aljazeera.

So I disabled UBO, refreshed the page and the video opened. I then clicked the Start button on the video and the video started playing. The video which played was; "Is Bangladesh A One Party State".

And I'm using 64 bit linux Pale Moon (28.4.0).

Well, it is good to know that the videos on Aljazeera are working.
I disabled uBlock Origin and still they will not play.
I restarted PM in SafeMode and still they will not play.
I am using Linux antiX and PM 28.4.0.
I also tried FF and the videos will not play.
When I hover over the video, it shows https://www.aljazeera.com/#

I discovered that https://www.aljazeera.com/live/ works. It provides a live video.
The link for it is at the top right of their main webpage https://www.aljazeera.com/
But the individual videos half way down the page will not work. If I try to open one in a new tab, just opens the main page again. It appears that the urls for the videos are not present and just takes me to https://www.aljazeera.com/#
