Closing 1 of 2 PM instances closed both

Unread post by ron_1 » 2019-02-02, 22:44

I had two instances of Pale Moon running. In one of them, I went to File >> Quit, and both instances of PM closed. Is that the way it works? I was only expecting the instance I did that on to close.

If they use the same profile, File -> Quit closes both windows.
If you use different profiles, File -> Quit will close only the windows associated with the "quitted" profile.
If you want to close a single window, use the OS control (e.g. a big red X on a corner), or close all the tabs.

Then totally expected.

File | Quit, will quit (exit) the browser, entirely.

If you want to close an individual window, hit the 'X', Close, box, upper right of the window (or Alt+F4).

Separate windows is not one typically considers separate "instances".
Separate instances typically means that you have more then one "instance" of palemoon.exe running in (Windows) Task Manager.
In that case, each instance would be totally separate & unaffected by the other.
