27.9.4 to 28.1: no more ctrl+click or milewideback

After upgrading to Palemoon 28.1, ctrl+clicking on links no longer opens them in a new tab (it does nothing at all) and the old Firefox extension MileWideBack (
http://dragtotab.mozdev.org/milewideback/) no longer works (the cursor changes when entering the effective area, but clicking does nothing).
I've now downgraded back to 27.9.4 and these things work again as I'd expect.
Arch Linux 64-bit
Palemoon-bin from AUR (extracts & re-tars the official palemoon binary release).

Ctrl+click opens the links in a new tab for me. Miyo Linux (Devuan ASCII) 64 bit.

(Test in a copy of your PM 27 Profile. You shouldn't be jumping between 27, 28, 27 with the same Profile.)
ctrl+clicking on links no longer opens them in a new tab (it does nothing at all)
Any change if you restart in
Safe Mode?
MileWideBack ... no longer works
Anything related noted in Error Console?

Ctrl+click also works for me, but I'm using 64 bit linux Pale Moon 28.1.0 running in 64 bit linux Mint 19 (Tara) Xfce.
As for the MileWideBack extension, I've never used this extension.

Okay. I see that these things work with a fresh profile, but not with a copy of my 27.9.4 profile. So I'll have to try to figure out what extension or setting is causing this. Thanks for helping me think about it.
Edit: Looks like disabling Greasemonkey fixed my ctrl+click problem. MileWideBack, a Firefox extension that hasn't been updated in 7 years, just plain doesn't work on 28.1, it seems. I tested this by creating a fresh profile and installing only this extension.
Edit 2: From addons.mozilla, the extension fork "MileWideBack Mellow ExtraWide NoSpin" still works on Palemoon 28.1 for me, if anyone else who wants to know stumbles across this thread.
