Sync has not been able to complete

Hello.
On a netbook with linuxmint 18.3 palemoon sync has stopped working. I get this message:
"Sync has not been able to complete during the last 14 days. Please check your network settings."

There is nothing odd on the network settings that i could tell.
Firefox sync works fine.
I have tried also connecting to the smartphone wifi and sync did not worked neither.

any idea?
