CAPTCHA required

Unread post by mr tribute » 2017-12-26, 22:39

I'm using latest Pale Moon (v27.6.2 64-bit) on Linux. When I wanted to visit http://www.thurrott.com I was met with CAPTCHA. I entered the correct password and I was then redirected to the site.

I then tried http://www.ghacks.net and was met with another CAPTCHA. I didn't bother visiting the site. I tried a handful of sites, but so far so good. I'll make a list with sites that require CAPTCHA, because this isn't normal. I haven't seen this before. Maybe this has something to do with the company "Cloudflare", I don't know.

So far CAPTCHA required on:
http://www.thurrott.com
http://www.ghacks.net
https://www.cloudflare.com/

I don't get this. All I can think of is that your IP looks like a bot to these sites. You can change your IP with your routers MAC address clone feature and resetting the modem. Just change the MAC too something else.

Well, it started today. I'll try from Windows tomorrow. I think John connor is right. Probably something to do with my IP address.

The issue has fixed itself. I had the same problem on both Linux and Windows. Maybe my ISP changed something and those sites thought I was a bot. I didn't do anything, but now the problem is gone. :)
