Re: How to backup/restore the saved passwords?
Password Exporter incorrectly handle passwords containing non-ascii characters and sometimes can't load its own backups. Better use Password Backup Tool.
Here are the add-ons I made in a spare time. That was fun!

Backup BOTH the key3.db and logins.json files in the profile you want to back up. And yes, you need to do it for each profile you want to back up.
- * logins.json stores the encrypted passwords
* key3.db stores the encryption key to decrypt the encrypted passwords
There's a right way
There's a wrong way
And then there's my way

Or, if you're planning to back up anyway, why not back up your entire profile?

Moonchild, friends...
ref - PM backup tool at:
http://www.palemoon.org/backuptool.shtml
Does this tool (pmbackup.exe)
also work
with the latest PM 27.5.1
in OS:
UBUNTU LINUX 14.04 32-bit?
Or is it only for MS-Windows OS?.
Thanks / Tak

The backup tool is Windows only.

You can back up your profile or any component of your profile (extensions, themes, bookmarks, passwords, cookies, permissions, etc.) with FEBE, now available at the Pale Moons Add-on Site!
(It stands for Firefox Environment Backup Extension, but version 10.0 targets Pale Moon specifically!)
It works in Linux, too.
And it has a support forum.
Among other components, I use FEBE to back up personas (lightweight themes); I know of no other way to do this easily.
FEBE backs up both usernames and passwords to a single .json file.
Alternately, for just passwords, JustOff's Password Backup Tool is excellent. It can export passwords to a spreadsheet (.csv) file for viewing. Also imports.
