Not Getting Update Notifications Topic is solved

Hi guys, apologies for a such a dumb q. I am a new Linux user with little tech knowledge and am teaching myself as I go.

I've been using PM just a few months (love it) on Mint 18.1 Serena, MATE
I see one is supposed to receive notices of updates; I have not been receiveing these, and just found out about PM 27.1 by looking at this forum this morning, purely by chance.

When searching for "updates" in FAQ I see one is supposed to be able to update from the browser; I see no way to do this, I had to go to my PM installer and apply the update for 27.1. I have no button for updates under "about" as I also see mentioned.
Further, how does one enable PM to "check for updates? I again, see no option to do this.

Updating from the browser is available only for Windows.

Same applies to notifications?

You mean notifications that an update is available? Yes, that too is Windows only.

[BTW, I also use Linux Mint Mate 18.1]

If you want to stay on top of updates to Pale Moon, you can subscribe to the Announcements board by clicking the link at the bottom, and in your user control panel, board preferences, edit notifications options, check the email option. That way you'd get an email when a new version is released.

I saw that option (to sub to announcements) and shall do.
I was thinking maybe it was something I'd done (or failed to do) as to why no notifications etc. Humbly suggest that the FAQs be changed to mention that the options I above referenced, are for Win only.
