Sound straight from Alsa?
Is it possible to get PM to connect directly to Alsa? I was running straight Alsa before I switched to PM, it can handle all the tasks I need handled. But I upgraded to the newest release of my distro, they added PulseAudio on top of Alsa, and now I'm trying to get back to plain Alsa. The PM docs say PA is required, but is there a workaround for that?

Pale Moon automatically uses PA if it's available. You'll have to either remove PA from your system or compile Pale Moon yourself using the --disable-pulseaudio mozconfig option.
