Re: Ubuntu 16.0.4, 15.10, 15.04, 14.04, Debian 8 Pale Moon repositories
Steve, please check your PM's. I've sent you a couple regarding the crashing issues we've had reported.
Re: Ubuntu 16.0.4, 15.10, 15.04, 14.04, Debian 8 Pale Moon repositories
I thought I had performed this same operation through the GUI, but apparently not. Your terminal commands worked. Thanks very much for your help.balloon wrote:When PM 26.4 was released, software.opensuse.org server was having problems and updated.
At that time the repository key has been updated.
If Release.key file remains, The registration of the repository key does not work well. (file name will be changed)
Remove Release.key and try again:Code: Select all
rm Release.key wget http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:stevenpusser/xUbuntu_14.04/Release.key sudo apt-key add - < Release.key sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade
P.S. Steve, thank you for maintaining these repositories. It is a huge help.

For those 16.04 and 16.10 users with crashing issues, I turned off the publishing flag for the PM packages and added the unofficial branded "newmoon" package, which is built against gcc-4.9 on those releases instead of the problematic gcc-5 or 6. Please install and test to see if they solve the issue--hopefully I can switch the fixed PM packages back on soon.

All versions are built, and the 32-bit are published. As has been happening lately on the OBS, all 64-bit packages sit there for quite a while longer until they are published to the repo.

Great stuff Steve, thanks again!

Hi guys
I just want to confirm, that my PM build is done in a proper, Debian ways, means binary debs and full source code is available in sparky repos for a while now.
Just built 27.1.2 and will be uploaded today.
Thank's for your great job!

Nice! Did you build it against gcc-4.9 to avoid any of those crashing issues that were causing grief for those Ubuntu builds? But maybe Stretch's gcc-6.2 is more stable than the gcc-5 and 6 versions used in those Ubuntu releases.pavroo wrote:Hi guys

Edit: no, I see you have it with gcc-6, with some settings in the preper script. Hmmm--generally, Debian maintainers just run the type of commands that are in that script straight from the rules files, but it's not like they'll be breaking your door down to arrest you for that. Generally, it looks nicer when you get rid of all the unused .ex files, though.
Starting on 27.1.2 myself now.

Re: Ubuntu 16.0.4, 15.10, 15.04, 14.04, Debian 8 Pale Moon repositories
I have received an automatically generated message from the OBS, asking me if I could remove the Ubuntu 15.04 and 15.10 repositories to free up space in their always crowded servers, since those repositories and releases have reached end-of-life. I have an option to keep them, but is anyone going to miss them if I do get rid of them?

Re: Ubuntu 16.0.4, 15.10, 15.04, 14.04, Debian 8 Pale Moon repositories
Just added firejail 0.9.4.10 and firetools 0.9.4.6 to the repository; firejail's default palemoon.profile is patched to hopefully work with this build of Pale Moon.
There is no firejail package for Debian 7 (Wheezy) amd64, since the build fails with the hardening flags enabled in the rules file. If anyone really needs that, I could build a version with the hardening flags turned off, with the understanding that could be less secure.

The Ubuntu 17.04 repositories just were added to the OBS today, so I added them to the Pale Moon project (a matter of clicking a checkbox). Those packages should be available after they build, usually in less than an hour, barring any unforeseen problems.

The 27.3.0 source files have been uploaded, so the finished packages should land in the repo in an hour or so.

Re: Ubuntu 16.0.4, 15.10, 15.04, 14.04, Debian 8 Pale Moon repositories
Apparently the openSUSE user services, including the Build Service that hosts my repositories, suffered a security breach in the user authentication, and they have been shut down while they determine exactly how bad it was.

I hear about this, I'm sure all will be fine... hopefully it doesn't take too long...stevepusser wrote:Apparently the openSUSE user services, including the Build Service that hosts my repositories, suffered a security breach in the user authentication, and they have been shut down while they determine exactly how bad it was.

Re: Ubuntu 16.0.4, 15.10, 15.04, 14.04, Debian 8 Pale Moon repositories
They are back up, so apparently it wasn't too bad. I just hope it doesn't make openSUSE look like they left something wide open by some rather obvious mistake.

I'm just going to reply to say that it does work in my KDE Neon VM. KDE Neon User Edition is based on Ubuntu 16.04, so make sure to follow instructions for that version.
