How to remove Private Browsing warning splash?

Post by elrod » 2016-02-20, 02:53

Is there an about:config setting to eliminate the Brivate Browsing - No History screen (File>New Private Window) ? I know I can just ignore it, but once is enuf.

Similarly - what was that Start - Search screen that popped up as Home Page when I set my general preferences to about:blank? I set NoScipt to BlockTheElement and it went away. Was that something from PM or some third party affiliate tracker or what?

Thanks

Solved - My Error (remove Private Browsing warning)

Post by elrod » 2016-02-20, 17:58

For some reason my Private Browsing setting didn't take on this re-install. I reset it several times and got error msgs about LSOs not being protected by BETTER PRIVACY. Maybe the BP extension blocked the setting. Something New? I set about:config browser.privatebrowsing.autostart to TRUE and then went back to the PREFERENCES and reset the check box to ALWAYS USE PRIVATE BROWSING MODE, checked DON'T SHOW THIS MSG AGAIN in the BP LSO warning msg and this time it sticks on. I have another box for commerce that might benefit from some cookie/LSO retention, but I want this browser to remain clear. Now it is always in Private Mode and there is no more warning screen.
