Pale Moon GTK3 buggy
The GTK3 version after a while will fail to load any web page. It said it's still loading but will never able to load the page regardless of how many times you refresh the page. The only thing you could see is a blank page. First I think it's network problem so I deactivate the connection then re-activate it again. The browser then could load the web page normally but after a while this happen again. I still think it's network problem but curiously I launched Chromium and found it has no such problem loading web pages. I quit Pale Moon GTK3 and launch Pale Moon GTK2, the GTK2 version has no such problem, too. So it's a bug of the GTK3 version only.

Re: Pale Moon GTK3 buggy
Considering you have other issues that you have already made threads about, I don't think this is an isolated incident.
So, best treat it as something systemic for your setup. This is certainly not something universal or we'd see many more people reporting it.

Hi. These not found libraries seem to be in the same directory as libxul.so. Do they cause any issues?

Re: Pale Moon GTK3 buggy
We haven't used NSS 3.27/28 for a quite a while. Sounds to me like your version of Pale Moon is considerably outdated.

Definitely not, man.

Re: Pale Moon GTK3 buggy
I build both GTK2 and GTK3 version of Pale Moon from source. I can't get rid of those NSS issues, though. But it's weird the GTK3 version I build from source seems doesn't suffer from this fail to load web page issue. Only the one provided by the official tarball does.

Your about box is also missing its background. Something's definitely wrong.

I think if they are building from source on an outdated distro on a system using a cpu based on the Hasbeen microarchitecture and likely insufficient ram where Chrome tears.. I think they are simply out of luck.

Re: Pale Moon GTK3 buggy
So, the problem is with the official tarball, and not the one from my OBS apt repo for Stretch? Or can you test my package on your install?
I would think that someone else would have reported the problem if it affected all my debs...

Re: Pale Moon GTK3 buggy
No. You could see my PC's spec on the neofetch screenshot on my other thread. It's not at all an old system. It has 4 cores CPU and 8G of RAM. This version of Q4OS is based on Debian Stretch (not yet EOL) when I installed it. Now Q4OS released a new version based on Buster but the older version I use still being supported. It's not an outdated distro at all.New Tobin Paradigm wrote: ↑2021-04-15, 14:23I think if they are building from source on an outdated distro on a system using a cpu based on the Hasbeen microarchitecture and likely insufficient ram where Chrome tears.. Re: Pale Moon GTK3 buggy
It's the official tarball as I always stated. Sorry, I don't want to use your repo. I use PM as a portable browser (I don't have to install it but not completely self contained like the portable version on Windows, to be clear). I don't want to install it. So you could assume your debs are not affected.stevepusser wrote: ↑2021-04-15, 19:07So, the problem is with the official tarball, and not the one from my OBS apt repo for Stretch? Re: Pale Moon GTK3 buggy
However there's about 25% difference in installed packages between your "reference" (96DPI) and "problematic" (120DPI), so it's clearly not the same installation.
I don't know what you did to screw up your system but it seems to be quite broken. We're not here to troubleshoot your O.S.; we can't.

Re: Pale Moon GTK3 buggy
This is definitely not the case. I installed Wine and PlayOnLinux. They have nothing to do with PM. Please close the thread here. I don't want you to troubleshoot my system.Moonchild wrote: ↑2021-04-16, 10:36However there's about 25% difference in installed packages between your "reference" (96DPI) and "problematic" (120DPI), so it's clearly not the same installation.

Re: Pale Moon GTK3 buggy
Sure. I'll close the duplicate threads also.
You're welcome to come back when you've figured out what you broke.
