[SOLVED] x64 Possible
[SOLVED] x64 Possible
Hi Moonchild
Could x64 be possible with FOSSAMail? (I'm unsure if there's any x64 build of Thunderbird in its dev cycle).
There are currently no FOSS x64 mail clients (annoyingly) so was hoping FOSSAMail would be x64.
Kind Regards,

Advantages?
I'm new here and just found FossaMail. I'm an old Thunderbird user. What are the advantages of FossaMail over Thunderbird?
And what is the advantage of the 64 bit version?
Thanks

Re: [SOLVED] x64 Possible
64bit can address more memory. 64bit Thunderbird doesn't have a Calendar program that I am aware of.
Re: [SOLVED] x64 Possible
Lightning while can technically be built into a standalone program (if it hasn't coderotted since sunbird was discontinued) but these days it is built simply as an extension. Even if it is built with Seamonkey Mail and News or Thunderbird it is built in it's extension form.wildbill5891 wrote:64bit Thunderbird doesn't have a Calendar program that I am aware of.
For an apt comparison, lightning can be built and included with Thunderbird in very much the same way the Statusbar code is built and included with Pale Moon.

Thanks. Does somebody know what the optimizations are?dark_moon wrote:Fossa Mail is a optimized Thunderbird.

From the home page:
Is built from source with compiler optimizations geared towards an as stable and smooth operation of the client as possible (Pale Moon-alike optimizations).
