Keep getting disconnected from Pale Moon IRC

Using Fossa Mail I connect just fine to the Pale Moon IRC channel. But only for a minute or so, after which I am disconnected.

On the Pale Moon channel the messages are:

01:46:40 - Your account is disconnected.
01:46:58 - Your account has been reconnected.
01:47:15 - ricus [~ricus@47.62.141.44] entered the room.
01:48:18 - Your account is disconnected.
01:49:28 - Your account has been reconnected.
01:50:40 - Your account is disconnected.
01:50:58 - Your account has been reconnected.
01:53:04 - Your account is disconnected.
01:53:21 - Your account has been reconnected.

After a few of these automatic reconnections, I just feel embarrassed and close the connection.

On the server:

I'm not sure what is getting me disconnected... I tried looking for timeout options under Settings or in the Global Options, but i can't find anything that seems to indicate this is a problem with a Staying Alive setting (or even how to control Stay Alive).

Freenode is notorious for ping timeouts and netsplits.. There isn't anything we can do about it.. We don't run the network.

It's been a life since I last used IRC, so you did remind me of some of its terminology and idiosyncrasies. Looking through the possibilities, it must be a ping timeout. But I don't have this problem when connecting through the web client on the Pale Moon website. My connection is very stable there.

Freenode has a bunch of servers.. Maybe the one hosting the web gateway is more stable than whatever one you connect to via the normal roundrobin

Thanks for the replies, Tobin. I'm connecting to the internet from Angola. So clearly that is the problem right there, since connections here are very low quality. I'll have to make do.
