FossaMail SlackBuild
Can somebody make a FossaMail SlackBuild, so that Slackware users can install and run FossaMail.

Re: FossaMail SlackBuild
sure, i can, i'm Slackware user myself. yet:
1. only x86, i'm not a fan of x86_64, and i'm not using it (so i can't test x86_64 builds).
2. you will need to build GCC 4.7 too, as this is the known version that produces stable binaries, and GCC 4.9 is known to produce unstable binaries.
so that can't be that easy. but i can write a script that will download required GCC, build it, and then build FossaMail with that GCC, producing Slackware package, and not altering the existing GCC installation.
if nobody else will volunteer, please, ping me on a next weekend, and i'll try to write that thingy.
p.s. or, if you're ok with prebuilt binaries, we can simply convert that to Slackware package. somehow i didn't thought about that possibility. ;-)

If the prebuild binaries work and would save time, then yes I would prefer that.ketmar wrote:sure, i can, i'm Slackware user myself. yet:

Re: FossaMail SlackBuild
the script can simply download official binaries from FossaMail site and repack 'em, creating normal package. this way you can be sure that you have official builds, and if you found some bug, this is a bug in original binary. easy thing, i'll write the script after i force that stupid XUL window which i'm fighting with now to resize itself. ;-)

Re: FossaMail SlackBuild
i'm very sorry, but i'm unable to download anything from fosshub (the site which is used as download source for fossamail), and i don't feel adventurous enough to reverse their scripts. so i can't build repackaging script. alas.
please note, this doesn't mean that fossamail is bad or something is wrong with fossamail site. it's just me, fosshub and my idiosincrasy concerning sites which refuses to work with javascript turned off.

Re: FossaMail SlackBuild
How would I go about installing it then without the slackbuild.

You can basically follow the instructions for Pale Moon
http://linux.palemoon.org/help/installation/
if you need a .desktop file, you can adjust the one from Thunderbird to work with Fossa Mail.
