FossaMail version of Lightning is messed up
I've installed the 64 bit version of FossaMail along with the recommended 64 bit version of Lighting. I've noticed the following problems with Lightning:
1. Upon first starting FossaMail, I have the mail and calendar tabs both open. When switching to the calendar tab, I have 2 calendar toolbars showing. Switching back to mail tab and then to calendar tab, the 2nd calendar tab disappears and all looks fine.
2. Lightning refuses to operate at all. It won't sync up with Google, let me add\remove calendars\sync calendars, etc.
3. Removing Lighting, restarting FossaMail and reinstalling Lighting again will allow Lighting to work. This fix only lasts until I reboot the computer then I have to go through steps 1, 2 and 3 again to get Lighting to work. Is there a newer version of Lighting for FossaMail yet? The current version seems to be a bit of a mess.

I assume you're also using the 'Provider for Google Calendar' add-on? Maybe it's not compatible with 64-bit FossaMail/Lightning.

I've never used the 'Provider for Google Calendar'. Don't have a need for it.

Re: FossaMail version of Lightning is messed up
I see. I don't use Google Calendar, and I thought the 'Provider for Google Calendar' add-on was needed to allow bidirectional access to it with Lightning. But as you say, that's not the case.
Anyway, I thought your problem might be caused by one of your add-ons being incompatible with 64-bit FossaMail/Lightning. If you have ruled out that option, I have no further suggestions for you. Maybe another forum member does.

Re: FossaMail version of Lightning is messed up
Hi,
Sorry I don't have a solution, but the same thing has just happened to my Lightning in Fossamail.
It was working fine up until about a week and a half ago, to be honest I didn't even notice it was not there until this morning when I wanted to check when a friends birthday was.
When I tried to 'unhide' it I discovered what I could only call a blank interface, with none of my reminders, events etc on it, 2 toolbars on the calendar tab and no dates etc on the monthly calendar view.
None of the functions work anymore - I tried to re import my events and tasks, and clicking on import has no effect. Similarly switching from Day/week/Month has the same effect - It's on the screen but is not in any way interactive...
A couple of screenshots attached for yr info (as well as addons).
FYI all of these addons were present while the calendar was working fine, in fact no changes at all to Fossamail at the time that things went wrong...
I tried disabling all Lightning related addons but no difference.
Below are the addons I have installed;
.vcs support
Add Block Plus
Add Block Edge
Address Book tab
Color folders
Compose toolbar buttons
Contact tabs
Empty deleted folder button
English (Australian) dictionary
Fox Clocks
Highlighter
Lightning
Lightning Calendar tabs
Lightning QR code addon
Lookout
New Scrollbars (Noia Scrollbars)
Thunderbrowse
Thunder Tabs
Any help or suggestions anyone can give would really be appreciated, as I love Fossamail, but I need to keep my reminders and calendars etc

@Palvan: Have you tried disabling all your add-ons, except Lightning?

Re: FossaMail version of Lightning is messed up
@Palvan: I just had another look at your screenshots, and I think I've figured out what happened here. Your Lightning version is 2.6.6, which means that 64-bit Fossamail Lightning must have been automatically replaced with 32-bit Mozilla Lightning about 10 days ago, when Mozilla released version 2.6.6.
Here's what you should do:
1) Uninstall Lightning.
2) Download the newest version of 64-bit FossaMail Lightning from http://www.fosshub.com/FossaMail.html (right-click "Download FossaMail Lightning add-on for x64" and choose "Save link as").
3) Install 64- bit FossaMail Lightning, by clicking the "gear" icon and then "Install Add-on From File" in FossaMail's add-on manager.
4) Finally, click on the "gear" icon again and remove the check mark with "Update Add-ons Automatically", to prevent this from happening again.
That should solve your problem; let me know if it did!

Re: FossaMail version of Lightning is messed up
Hi,
Thanks so much for yr advice.
I did as you suggested and you are absolutely right - it had updated Lightning with the TB version - have replaced it with the Fossamail 64 bit version and disabled automatic updating accordingly and everything works brilliantly.
Thank you so much for yr assistance
